To think that the nursery nurses getting my 10 month old daughter to make a mother's day card is pointless

Well she is a baby. She is more interested in crawling and eating bits of card board. She is perfecting her pincher grip by eating small bits of lego/ power rangers/ transformers off the carpet. (Not this precise second as she is asleep)

I have a mother day's card "made" my daughter. It just seems a total waste of time. I am sure there are better activites that they could do with her to improve fine motor skills.

I had two mother's day cards from my kids - one made by my dd at nursery from her and her brother and one made by one of the nursery nurses on behalf of my ds, who is 7 months old and has been in hospital for the last week and a half with meningitis and a lump on his brain.

It was incredibly thoughtful of the nursery staff to do this, OK the card wasn't directly from my ds but it was a lovely gesture, as i guess they imagined this mother's day would be particularly difficult this year. i will treasure this card for ever as someone was kind enough to think of me.

Perhaps the nursery shouldn't have made get well soon cards to ds from all the kids in the baby room and from my dd, just because they're not really old enough to appreciate the sentiment behind the card and what they were doing.
