I am fuming. What about my lay in?

Oh yuck, just read about soft-play parties. Sorry for all those that have to work too, I had to work today when DD had a special 'mother's day tea' at playgroup. I sent the MIL along but was gutted I missed it

Still, DS presented me with a half-eaten cake and some chewed daffodils when I collected him from nursery. makes up for it I suppose!

SoupDragon · 12/03/2010 21:50

"our most indulgent day"

PMLS.

As I pointed out to the children on the way to school this morning "Stuff "mothers day", it's going to be another fucking kids day."

mrsruffallo · 12/03/2010 22:00

birdworthington · 12/03/2010 22:04

Just be grateful you get to go out! I am a single mum so will be up at the crack of dawn, as usual, to tackle the huge pile of ironing that will have accumulated over the weekend whilst the kids fight in the front room.

mrsruffallo · 12/03/2010 22:07

Ah, Bird, come on surely it's a DVD day whilst you snooze on the sofa?

you lazy fecker ruff

DecorHate · 12/03/2010 22:08

Seriously, you can stay in bed till 10.30 and you are whinging? Don't see the point in going to lunch any later than 12 tbh. Everywhere will be heaving if you leave it later...

bibbitybobbityhat · 12/03/2010 22:08

Lol at Soupy.

DH intimated to me this evening that I would be getting breakfast in bed on mothers day.

What a fucking liberty!!! I almost never eat breakfast. On the rare days I do eat breakfast it is about 11am. So why would I be wanting to eat breakfast in bed at 8am on Sunday???? I ask you??????????

I expect flowers, champagne, the washing hung up and my dinner cooked for me at home on mothers day. Anything less is beyond the pale, imvho.

Sadlou81 · 12/03/2010 22:08

i htink mrs r has had a glass.

mrsruffallo · 12/03/2010 22:10

andirobobo · 12/03/2010 22:12

No chance of a lie in here - and no chance of lunch out. DH is actually off but never gave it a thought - probably footie on the telly.

I have DD to swimming lesson at 8.30am followed by Church Parade with Brownies at 9.45am.

Fecking Mothers Day - same as the other 363 to me!

llynnnn · 12/03/2010 22:12

12 is the perfect time for us as dd's are young and need feeding as soon as the clock strikes twelve!

Unfortunately I have tonsilitis and have no chance of managing a meal on sunday when i can barely swallow water today

would rather be at work, soft play party or several sporting events than stuck in with this pain!!

mrsruffallo · 12/03/2010 22:13

SadLou, have we met? Or do you name change to stalk?

OP posts:
kitkatsforbreakfast · 12/03/2010 22:14

tsk. Mrsruffalo

What I would do to be taken out to lunch at all.

Bloody hell woman. Be grateful for what you've got.

SoupDragon · 12/03/2010 22:14

spoilt brat

BigBadMummy · 12/03/2010 22:15

I will be up at sparrow fart and getting stuck on the M6 as I head home from my brother in law's memorial hockey match.

So lunch with my DCs will be whatever time I get back.

DH will be staying in Cheshire to take his mum out for lunch as it is her first Mother's day since her son died in September.

I would love to be able to go out for lunch at 12pm with my DH and DCs.

mrsruffallo · 12/03/2010 22:16

A-ha! Sadlou is soupdragon's alter ego...you forgot to namechange!

OP posts:
SoupDragon · 12/03/2010 22:16

Er no it isn't.

DoctorAficionadoDelArse · 12/03/2010 22:16

DH works every Sunday so every mother's day to date I've cooked for my MIL, Dmum and DDs. I also get to do all the preparatory shopping and house work along with all the washing up.

I do sometimes feel like screaming at the grannies "I"m a Mother too you know! You could at least lend a hand!"

ReneRusso · 12/03/2010 22:17

sadlou, diffo isn't English either (fgs)

DoctorAficionadoDelArse · 12/03/2010 22:20

Oh, and to ensure I actually got a gift, I bought myself a pot of Aldi face cream for about 2 pounds to give to DH, to give to the DDs to give to me. DH then asked did I get myself a card too!!

mrsruffallo · 12/03/2010 22:20

I am grateful.
I just like things done properly
