To find cryptic FB status updates highly irritating?

What's the point? Either write a proper status, or keep schtum. What are you hoping for writing something cryptic?

It's called 'vaguebooking' and is highly irritating (so much so that someone named it )

things like "some poeple need to get a life" oh so annoying.

YANBU - It's to get attention, encourages lots of 'aww what's up hun' and similar!

they are hoping for lots of attention!

maybe it's only cryptic for those people who don't know what it's about/what came before?

for instance if I write tomorrow

"yes - it's definitely happening tomorrow"

then a large number of FB friends will know what I'm talking about..........those that don't..............well they should read some of my previous status updates and it would all be very clear

giraffe - there was one of those message by one of my RL friends yesterday actually.........

I knew exactly what she meant as it was apparent from mutual friends posts over the last week or so hehe

besides - you're only allowed something like 420 characters in a status update, often what you want to say just won't fit..........so you have to do cryptic and expand after

YA absolutely NBU, I can't stand when people do this. Mostly because it is people who I'm either not interested enough in to ask, but irritated that I don't know (and also don't want to endorse their attention-seeking behaviour by asking) or it's people who I don't actually like anyway so would never ask, but just want to be nosey about. V annoying.

its when 20 people then say "oh no hun whats up? xxxx " and the OP goes "oh nothing never mind"

TAF my fb status is very vague just now...its a guessing game

look at this response I've just seen on FB to a vague one

"aww hun whats up? ru ok? not sure whats up hunni ur status is a bit vague hunni. xxxxxxxx hugglez mwah mwah mwah xxxxxx"

I FUCKING HATE 'hunni'. Or any variation therewith. Makes my toes curl.

If we all wrote a delightfully vague vaguebook - we'd all spot each other surely?

I just write what I am thinking and tbh sometimes it is really vague.

I hate having to answer all the questions! I just like having a box to put that thought into and forget about it.

everyone write "you know who you are and you know what I'm talking about" so we can MN spot .....[?].....

Or, "if you know what I'm on about I know who you are"...... eh?.....eh?!
