To let my 2 year old DD wear make up every day?

My 2yo DD wears make-up. And instead of being horrified, I think it makes her look absolutely fab. She's my only child has always been a real girlie girl.

I split with her dad when she was 1, so it has always just been the two of us. It's a really great way to bond.

She loves it all and has had so much practice that she can do everything herself - apart from eyelash curlers and mascara lol. I love seeing her all dressed up - I spend a fortune on her outfits and make-up just really finishes off the look.

Anyway the reason I'm posting is we were at a playgroup and all of the other mums were whispering about us. I confronted them and one told me it was disgusting and that I was sexualising her - I mean really why would wearing make up make her more likely to be abused?

I reckon they are just jealous that my DD looks so pretty. I don't see what the problem is and think other people should mind their own business.

ahhhhh half term on mn - let the games begin

Miggsie · 12/02/2010 13:36

I put nail varnish on my cats

BritneysChaps · 12/02/2010 13:36

What do you mean I tripped myself up?

If you mean about the eyelash curlers - I don't normally let her do it herself, but the woman who interviewed us said it would make a good picture. And they were paying so I didn't object - lols

I am going to collect my dd from school shortly, half term starts today. She is going skiing for a week and I've just had a brilliant idea. Rather than put high protection factor on her as usual plus a balaclava, I can just let her get a nice tan from the snow reflecting the sun.
I think I deserve a prize.

TanteRose · 12/02/2010 13:42

well, Katie Holmes obviously read Britney's article Pick me up magazine and thought "Bloody hell, have I got some catching up to do with little Suri!"

and sure enough.....

TheDevilWearsPrimark · 12/02/2010 13:44

No LeliKellies are so chavvy.

My DD love Suri Cruise. I wish I'd named her Suri - would be so cool.

blinks · 12/02/2010 13:45

i'm getting my baby's jowels pinned back.

they ruin her general look.

pagwatch · 12/02/2010 13:47

oh c'mon. Can't you see how much fun this looks?
If my DD thinks swimming and gym and dance is more fun that this I may as well trade her in one of these

lol

TheDevilWearsPrimark · 12/02/2010 13:48

Ach ye bastard. Why am I so shit at namechanging.

Sorry.....Bitoffun dared me and I always rise to a challenge.

pagwatch · 12/02/2010 13:49

at crap trolling name-change fuck up

TheDevilWearsPrimark · 12/02/2010 13:49

hahaha and at your links Pagwatch.

I saw a documentary about pageants for tinies - it was horrifying.

TheDevilWearsPrimark · 12/02/2010 13:51

But how scary is it that most cried troll at first - yet this is an actual person - who actually does this to her daughter?

VengefulKitty · 12/02/2010 13:53

The thing is, when it is an MNer having a wind up, the OP's posts are obviously different from a Troll's posts, so we know we are in for a laugh

Great thread!

GypsyMoth · 12/02/2010 13:53

so you are britney dwp??

TheDevilWearsPrimark · 12/02/2010 13:56

aye - sorry and all.

It was funny though.

I started feeling guilty actually so am glad I outed myself really.

Had any troll super sleuths been around they might have spotted this and outed me earlier.

pagwatch · 12/02/2010 14:00

Those mags are full of preposterous shit.
I am sure some people do stuff but I think people are happy to exagerate to flog a story. Its the jeremy vine of journalism - people know it needs to be extreme to sell so they deliver what is asked for...

That last link is astonishing though, isn't it. Those two pretty enough children are sitting there bored to death looking like Katie Price in the making and the mum looks totally disengaged. Great shot actually..

I have puzzled for ages about pagent because you hear such vocal defences of them but the thing that I find weirdest is that the children are made to look like adults - but then wear short white ankle socks? The costumes look like a paedophile designed them because they are uber worldly yet have very strong little girl signals too -
odd.
Suri Cruise just looks like her mum wants a shopping friend which is weird enough but they mary jane shoes and lace ankle socks with full make up in pagents is very very weird to me. and hints paedophile prefernces IMHO

GypsyMoth · 12/02/2010 14:01

well you tripped up.....in article it says she's an events co-ordinator,or something similiar....when i mentioned nanny/coffee (thinking you were yesterdays troll)you said you were on benefits......,cant believe nobody picked up on it from the 'tips' theread tho!!

TheDevilWearsPrimark · 12/02/2010 14:02

Suri Cruise is a different matter altogether.

I read up on Scientology and because they believe babies are 'vessels' for adults that have passed away they are expected to behave/ are treated like adults.

Bloody crazy

crankytwanky · 12/02/2010 14:17

Ooh, really TDWP? That explains the heels, make up etc. Innnntresting.

That was a lot of photos of Miss Cruise, even for a DM article.

SixtyFootDoll · 12/02/2010 14:20

Has she had her first sunbed sesiion yet?!

SerenityNowakaBleh · 12/02/2010 14:20

I've read that as well in a DM article
