To let my 2 year old DD wear make up every day?

My 2yo DD wears make-up. And instead of being horrified, I think it makes her look absolutely fab. She's my only child has always been a real girlie girl.

I split with her dad when she was 1, so it has always just been the two of us. It's a really great way to bond.

She loves it all and has had so much practice that she can do everything herself - apart from eyelash curlers and mascara lol. I love seeing her all dressed up - I spend a fortune on her outfits and make-up just really finishes off the look.

Anyway the reason I'm posting is we were at a playgroup and all of the other mums were whispering about us. I confronted them and one told me it was disgusting and that I was sexualising her - I mean really why would wearing make up make her more likely to be abused?

I reckon they are just jealous that my DD looks so pretty. I don't see what the problem is and think other people should mind their own business.

lol at this

BritneysChaps · 12/02/2010 12:18

Yes we were in a magazine - but I don't like to brag about it.

I've laminated the pages so my DD an see it when she's older.

Just the first pic for her modelling portfolio lol.

TBH I think if she's 2 and this is your FIRST portfolio picture you've left it WAY too late. Sorry.

BritneysChaps · 12/02/2010 12:53

Would you consider permanent make up when she's older ? Maybe 5 or so.

(my ds's are on half term today)

The sad thing is this will be in the DM and people will believe that posters agreeing with BC mean it.

God help you, BC if you are for real and mean all this.

SecretSlattern · 12/02/2010 13:01

Assuming you are real (which I doubt) I think it is terribly sad that you can't recognise your DD's natural prettiness...

BritneysChaps · 12/02/2010 13:02

here we are

I bet this rates a whole article...

You know if you get them used to wearing a corset when very young, you can keep their waist size nice and small? Nothing better than a nice hourglass figure on a 5 year old, it sets the hotpants off nicely.

guineapigpodge · 12/02/2010 13:06

Why not go the whole hog, and bandage their feet like they used to do in china?
Big feet are so unattractive, and whats a bit of pain, for tiny feet?

FabIsGoingToBeFabIn2010 · 12/02/2010 13:08

Bloody hell!

BritneysChaps · 12/02/2010 13:09

Doesn't she look gorgeous?

What a lovely article so well written ..
I am sure she will thank you when her beautiful soft child skin ages before time . Her eyes get ruined by the chemicals in the mascara......
I think you are nuts but its your child so do what you like - She is bound to thank you.
Maybe you should move to America so you could do the beauty competetions there.

StealthPolarBear · 12/02/2010 13:12

is this real??

guineapigpodge · 12/02/2010 13:13

That article makes me feel wrong.

FabIsGoingToBeFabIn2010 · 12/02/2010 13:15

Sorry, but not especially. All I can ficus on is the eyelash curlers right by her eye. I hope to God you are not real.

FabIsGoingToBeFabIn2010 · 12/02/2010 13:17

focus

pagwatch · 12/02/2010 13:18

No no, this is all good.

I think that girls cannot be taught early enough that make up and stuff will getthem a Man and A Career. After all school is just a waste of tanning time lol

I try with my daughter but I show her this and she just looks at me all surly like. Selfish little cow. Doesn't she realsie it is all about me LOL. I would have loved to look like a cheap hooker glamour modul when I was her age.

Still her boob job is booked so she is just going to have to lump it.. Oe-er lump it LOL !!!

BritneysChaps ( i bet they're a bit wiffy lol) I think we should be bessies
