To be fuming at the school for sending ds's shoes, with someone's human shit on them, home in a bag?

Someone shat on the toilet floor. It's the second time in a week this has happened. Anyway, today ds stood in the poo and they told him to put on his gym shoes, put his shitty shoe in a bag, and sent it home to me.

What TF would you do? It was diahorrea apparently. Now I have a grim bin liner in my home with a turdy shoe in it.

Sounds harsh to blame the boy for not seeing the poo: have you never trodden in a piece of dog do yourselves, ladies? Otoh a 10yo could perhaps have cleaned his own shoe?

ooh is Cyb mini DavidTennants teacher???

I don't think it's a big deal tbh. I would just hose the thing down outside then clean further inside. I wouldn't expect a year 5 or 6 teacher to have the time (or to do it for a 10 year old particularly).

DS1's school wash and dry things and send them home when he makes a mess (need a heart emoticon).

For those with unfortunate fox poo incidents, you need to be really careful with fox poo as many carry an extremely contagious form of hepatitis.

When I was about 12, a fox got in to our conservatory and shat everywhere. I cleaned most of it up, and my Mum then mopped it with boiling water - the steam from the water carried the infection and she inhaled it, getting a severe form of hepatitis which has left her liver badly damaged. 2 of my sisters got it from my Mum, and they were severely ill as well - they were all bed-ridden for months, and me & my 9 year old sister had to run the house - cooking, cleaning, shopping, bills. Believe me, you don't ever want to mess with fox poo.

I did however expect my CM to wash my 2 yr old DS's shoes when he walked through dog poo in her care.

Maybe, saintlydame - if it happened about 9 years ago. It was a wax jacket too, and even though I washed it carefully and tried not to get detergent on the outside of the coat, I still ended up having to rewax it.

This is the same boy who, at my sister's housewarming party, did somersaults in the garden and rolled head first in fox poo!! My bil doesn't like children and is terrible with them, and I think this just reinforced that for him - his face was a picture when ds1 came in all pooey round the head, and reeking!!

In the end dh cleaned it off. I was mumsnetting doing the family food shop on the internet at the time and I did feel really guilty as he was scrubbing for ages (they were astro turf trainers) and he kept saying, 'Oh my God!' and 'Jesus this is horrible'.

I think someone at school should have rinsed it under an outdoor tap or even got my ds to do it. My point is that shit, especially diahorrea, should be dealt with swiftly and not transported around.

I felt pretty sorry for DS. It was very humiliating for him. I felt sorry for the teachers and the caretaker who had to deal with the lavatory incident, for the poor boy who was at school with diahorrea, for DH ... let's face it there were no winners here.

Just a thought, if you went into a cafe and stood in shit which was on the floor, how would you feel?

I would expect the cafe owner to clean the floor when I reported the incident, but not to clean my shoes. After all I presume the cafe owner/workers didn't cause the mess. It's only their fault if they had been aware of the shit and not done anything.
I presume the boy trod in the mess immediately after it had occurred before the cleaner had arrived.
