Message after message full of typos where you have to stop and try to decipher it.

Plus all this 'tis, twas'. Oh It annoys me.

pagwatch · 01/02/2010 14:04

I snog people when I am drunk

TheElephant · 01/02/2010 14:05

FERNIE3

we love you adn your typing

i saw it when the circus went there

TheElephant · 01/02/2010 14:05

i rarely drink or eat on mn

GetOrfMoiLand · 01/02/2010 14:05

I too hate gurt long posts which are not seperated into paragraphs, and which do not have rudimentary ounctuation, capital letters for names and places etc.

EleanoraBuntingCupcake · 01/02/2010 14:05

i get cross when drunk is the op drunk?

AitchTwoOhOneOh · 01/02/2010 14:06

amen orm. and why don't you bring it up with the posters at the time, tdwp? if people don't use paragraphs, i am forced to as i can't read them. no one's ever punched my lights out for it.

itsmeolord · 01/02/2010 14:06

I have no idea how it can be seen as rude to type badly.

This isn't a place of work with standards to adhere to. It's a public forum where lots of bored people spend hours discussing (for the most part) random shite. What does the delivery matter?
And lets face it tdwp, an awful lot of your posts have been indecipherable even when they are typed correctly....... Pot. Kettle?

Bit "I am considerably cleverer than yow" really.

YADBU.

TheElephant · 01/02/2010 14:06

i dont haev a lap top so have to be in a certain room to mn.
so rarely eat wheil mning
well never tbh

GetOrfMoiLand · 01/02/2010 14:07

I predict a row.

Not a riot.

Just a quiet row.

BethNoire · 01/02/2010 14:09

Oh bugger just outed my name change PMSL

Do I get special award for that?

CatIsSleepy · 01/02/2010 14:10

'just as it's rude to get so drunk that you end up slurring it is rude to not bother to type coherently in an online discussion'

well i try very hard not to slur when I am drunk, not because I think it's rude to slur but because I am trying to disguise the fact that I am drunk

not that I've been drunk in a very very long time

I have no idea of the point I am trying to make

Bonsoir · 01/02/2010 14:10

No, it's not a place of work, but it is a public place and most people adhere to a certain standard of behaviour in public - it's just good manners to do so, and makes everyone else's life easier and more comfortable...

foxinsocks · 01/02/2010 14:10

you must be drunk Beth

TheDevilWearsPrimark · 01/02/2010 14:11

itsmeolord - really!?

Thanks for letting me know

And not like you care but yes I'm angry - for many reasons. Should have learnt my lesson to step away from mumsnet / CIF when in this kind of mood.

I'll live and (never) learn....

OP posts:
daftpunk · 01/02/2010 14:11

Yabu...

I'd rather read a post full of typos from someone interesting than a perfectly typed post from someone boring...

Infact, perfectly typed posts make me think way too much effort goes into impressing internet strangers....

and people who worry about crap like this need to get out more

BethNoire · 01/02/2010 14:12

Bonsoir you make me laugh, you really do.

Drunk? at 2.15 wioth a lecture tonight and a seminar on PCIT to deliver? I wish!

TheDevilWearsPrimark · 01/02/2010 14:14

I agree with Bonsoir.

Oh how we laugh at text speak and tickers.

Sheer laziness is in the same camp, in my opinion.

Yes we all type quickly but fgs, just try to make yourself coherent, what is the point otherwise?

OP posts:
itsmeolord · 01/02/2010 14:15

Oh come on, I haven't said you are angry. And you have posted yourself on a few occasions laughing at some of your odder posts. Wasn't a bitchy comment, just a reason why I think you are being unreasonable.

And no, I don't care because I don't know you and I don't know why you are angry, not because I am being deliberately unfeeling. Perhaps you should start posting disclaimers at the end of your op's.

MadOldCrone · 01/02/2010 14:16

i think it doesn't matter if your typing is crap - you can tell if someone's smart/funny/wise/a viper by what they say, not how they type it

txtspeak just makes you look thick

BethNoire · 01/02/2010 14:17

But seriously TDWP (I take it you picked up below who I am?) it would mean i couldn't post on your threads as I can't read the words i type. Am waiting for a new PC to go in ATM but can'tenlarge the size of the type,Dh looking into ascreen reader.

Would you really want to effectively ban peoplefrom your threads? because TBh I;drather fight to read some pertinent advice than not get it at all.

I always just assume people who don't like it don't read it tbh.

MadOldCrone · 01/02/2010 14:18

....and I don't pay greater attention to the beautifully typed, perfectly grammered posts and immediately think, hmmm, she knows her subjunctives, she must be right about everything.

Bonsoir · 01/02/2010 14:19

Now I come to think of it, my mental picture of someone who types/spells badly on here is of someone who is slovenly in their appearance/lives in a messy house/is generally a bit lazy... It probably does affect the way I react to their posts - it makes me think less of the point they are making, as if they hadn't thought very hard about it since they weren't prepared to make the effort to express themselves coherently.

TheElephant · 01/02/2010 14:19

howverydarethey

TheDevilWearsPrimark · 01/02/2010 14:20

BethNoire, sorry am I missing something? No idea who you 'are'

Hope you are not 'Wannabe', but surely you'd know your case is different?

OP posts:
BethNoire · 01/02/2010 14:21

Well Bonsoir thats not too far off the truth with me,so so be it.
