To think that the recent spate of troll posts and deliberately provocative posts are actually ruining mumsnet

I love AIBU, i love a good barney same as the next guy but really, i haven't a clue what is sodding real anymore. I love the fun trolls, especially if they are clever. But when it is about sensitive subjects or just insulting our intelligence - its getting a bit much and i wonder if MNHQ should be considering some sort of control?

No, I only want a young virile enormously well-endowed manservant, but I'll dowgrade from a wing to a suite and trade you a breastfeed for the dear little kitties.

Hullygully · 25/01/2010 18:02

Jack - You can keep your shed, I'm only interested in really big houses. And wong.

So WWC a few weeks ago your DH earned £100k and you nearly as much but today you are saying you bothe earn about the national average ?
Have you decided whether your DD lives with you or not yet ???

princessparty · 25/01/2010 18:06

Oh and nobody who lives in a posh house describes it as a 'posh house'

EdgarAllenSnow · 25/01/2010 18:08

incidentally on the parental expectations thread i though if another poster had posted the same thing word for word they wouldn't have got the same 'you're trolling' response. Some of he other stff i didn't read, so can't comment.

I also agree with the poster early in this thread about debate threads being hijacked by sob stories - just because a theme affects you personally doesn't mean no-one else is entitled to an opinion on it - after all, the same person in the same situation could take a very different view....

SpringHeeledJack · 25/01/2010 18:16

roffle at hedgehog cam

that wasn't you, was it? That was my all time Favourite Troll Thread

SpringHeeledJack · 25/01/2010 18:21

incidentally has anyone seen the South Park World Of Warcraft episode? that's how I now picture most trolls

...can't shake it

GibbonInARibbon · 25/01/2010 18:24

So pleased you said that Jack I always think of that too

SpringHeeledJack · 25/01/2010 18:28
Grin
starberries · 25/01/2010 18:30

Wait a sec - wasn't WWC the poster that said she could hear that little 3-yr-old boy crying all for (shock horror) 20 minutes every night?

And her 'huge posh Edinburgh house' has walls thin enough to hear that? Also find it odd WWC's middle 'w' has gone from uppercase to lowercase in a few different threads. Some namechanging methinks!

GibbonInARibbon · 25/01/2010 18:32

And she woulda got away with it if it wasnt for you pesky kids

weegiemum · 25/01/2010 18:39

What? Don't you have a cook?

SpringHeeledJack · 25/01/2010 18:47

Perhaps Bib has a mock up kitchen that she likes to create in

...a bit like Marie Antoinette and her Pretend Farm

upandrunning · 25/01/2010 18:50

rofl at all you norty people

northernlurker · 25/01/2010 18:55

I haven't been keeping up with the whole thread but feel I should just keep my end up by saying I have large breasts, a moderate size house and breastfed for a total of 49 months across three children and during two decades. I also have a bike exactly like those owned by the Dutch royal family, a marvellous collection of Chalet School stories and the ability to make a Yorkshire pudding that has you down on your knees weeping. I'm sure tis will make you all like me much more - and if you say not it's because you're jealous!

heQet · 25/01/2010 18:56

I've just typed a big long post, trying to explain how I feel. Then deleted it and tried again. and again. None of it sounds right but what it boils down to, really, is I just don't care about trolls.

Who knows who on here is real and who isn't? Think you can spot the trolls? I can't. The "I'm in love with my brother" might be true and the "I just stubbed my toe" might be made up.

I think what ruins mumsnet is the constant yelling of troll troll troll for very little (if any) reason.

And that fucking biscuit is ruining mumsnet.

If one more person posts it on a thread just to make the point that they aren't interested in it, I shall take the biscuit and beat them to bloody death with it.

SpringHeeledJack · 25/01/2010 18:59

oh, I like the biscuit

[huff]

posieparker · 25/01/2010 18:59

[bbiscuit]] looks like a dog.

posieparker · 25/01/2010 18:59

[bbiscuit] looks like a dog

posieparker · 25/01/2010 19:00

and isn't working!

EdgarAllenSnow · 25/01/2010 19:01

well said heqet, though i think the burnsie biscuit is cute and most probably a shortbread round [bbiscuit]

i mean why not either engage in debate, or not post at all?

heQet · 25/01/2010 19:02

But what's the point of the damn thing?

Posting on a thread so that you can say you don't want to post on the thread?

  • there's always the option of not posting on the thread!!

The biscuit just seems a bitchy response, imo. Like "yawn" and "not this again" and the like.

As if mners need ANOTHER way to be bitchy

heQet · 25/01/2010 19:03
