But the French Fancy denies it.

So it was you! You cunning vixen.

Come on then, who is Abercrombie and Fitzy?
And Hercule and Larry?

If only I were, mes cheres, then perhaps we would have had a leetle less of these narrative cohesion abominations!!!

I wish I were MsMary. I lurve. her.

PrincessFiorimonde · 20/01/2010 13:37

She denies it? Hmmm. Could have sworn I saw her Napoleonic hand behind Abercrombie.

Now I have to name change. Shame, as I quite liked Darcy (tho' the name was your idea originally, Hully).

GreatGodZeus · 20/01/2010 13:37

I think that Mme Umami might have some part to play in those roles...

PrincessFiorimonde · 20/01/2010 13:47

Oh bugger, I forgot Umami, cos I originally thought that was you, ZeusMimi.

And I'm sure I saw Umami on another thread saying that wasn't her usual posting name.

Madame Maiden Hully! This is no time for girly stuff like swooning. What would Ms Mary do? This, I feel, should be our mantra from now on.

Hullygully · 20/01/2010 13:59

Indeed! I believe she would hand out pamphlets most sternly.

Now, where were we Gods and narrative-wise..?

Oh, but Zeus has gone! I believe he may have gone in hot pursuit to Parnassus - he seems most awful keen on the babe Nigel.

GreatGodZeus · 20/01/2010 14:03

tsk tsk. What a palaver! I have many offspring scattered throughout the mortal world, but this Nigel, he has potential....my cousin Florry will rue this days work

And his mortal mother is as comely as when we first met!

Glad she's lost the arboretum fetish, however. Else I might confused when turning young nymphs into dyrads and trees and somesuch...

Umami · 20/01/2010 14:08

You have me. I will admit to Larry, Hercule and Fitzy!
Does that iron everyone out?

However! To the task at hand! Could someone tell me what it is? Do we have to mount that feathered horse again and off to another mountain? Are we not to stay here for some revels with Dionysus? I have a fancy that when Pag returns she would make an excellent maenad.

Hullygully · 20/01/2010 14:20

I spy Dionysus over in yonder glade, a-dancing, a-carousing, and a bearing of many fine carafes of wine. He looks like the sort of chap worth meeting.

Nigel will keep awhile..

Hello Zeus! What brings you here today?

Hullygully · 20/01/2010 14:26

Oh tis like old times!

Umami · 20/01/2010 14:30

A quaff, dear Sir? Is it not full early in the day for a beaker of the blushful Hippocrene? Ah, well, when in Athens.....

Oh, do give over Clio, and hand over Nigel.

You know what will happen if you don't.

Back to Mount Olympus then!

Umami · 20/01/2010 14:33
ParnassusClio · 20/01/2010 14:35

Hully has turned into a maenad version of Jancis Robinson.

[purses lips disapprovingly. Goes back to reading Herodotus]

I have a feeling it is going to be one of those days again.

Umami · 20/01/2010 14:41

'Ere whatever happened to old thingummy ?
You know, he was all brooding and pale.

Way with words he had. Wonder if old Zeusy could do that zappy thing and zap him over here.

ParnassusClio · 20/01/2010 14:43

[Baulked of prey]

[Pokes tongue out at Zeus, but makes sure he has his back turned first]

[Eats olives]

I bow beforethe mystical figures before me . Tis I Paggy, handmaiden to the Great Gods and, more recently, anyone with a few coins or a glass or two to spare.

I note the small baby in the corner. Does anyone require a wet nurse? I was ( as you all know) briefly trapped by some of the huns ( or hun - not sure of the plural) and now consider myself an expert on many areas of breastfeeding whilst wearing coordinating Cath Kiston oven gloves.

Can I vbe of service in any way. Really any way at all.

Umami · 20/01/2010 14:47

Paggy! C'mere
I really, really love you, you know?
