to quite like the smell of my DD’s poo?

I know this is weird, but I actually quite like it... it is slightly sweet, slightly eggy like custard.
I?m not a total freak, I don?t like the smell of other children?s poo.
Whether it?s because there?s a sense of satisfaction that she?s actually eaten something (she?s a ?picky? eater)

or whether it?s a bit like smelling your own fart...

bandgeek · 17/01/2010 20:22

I didn't mind the newborn poo smell, but once they start solids, that's it. I have actually boaked at my children's poo smell on more than one occasion

nigglewiggle · 17/01/2010 20:23

I didn't mind the Exc BF baby poo. But I wouldn't say I liked it. Each to their own, "or they'd never sell mixed biscuits" as me granny used to say .

I know where you're coming from.

I used to like the smell of my children's poo nwhen they were purely breastfed and always gave their nappies a good sniff. Ok, I mean I wouldn't have wanted an "eau de poo" scent or anything, but it certainly wasn't unpleasant.

Even after they started on solids, I never found that they smelled bad.

lucyellensmumagain · 17/01/2010 21:02

odd!!

I was about to post my agreement about EBF but then I see she is two. My two year old smells like an old man.

thatsnotmymonster · 17/01/2010 21:15

If she is weeny and BF then ok it has a not unpleasant smell.

Any other poo is revolting, I can just about bear my own dc's but the older they get the worse it is. I've had to change the nappy of a nearly 3yo girl I look after sometimes and it is vom inducing.

Cicatrice · 17/01/2010 21:15

I don't mind it at all. I don't actively like it but it doesn't give me the boak.

I have always just put it down to biology. I like the smell of DS full stop. He's 2.5 by the way. I fully expect that he will want me to stop sniffing him at some future point.
