to dress my baby son in tights

When I had my DD I used to put tights under trousers when it was really cold. Would I be unreasonable to do this with my DS ( 9 months)? We have to take DD to school every day walking and I want him to be warm. If IANBU what age would it be unacceptable for boys to wear tights?

Last paragraph...

This is definately being discussed on TWS this morning as they have lifted Hullygully's post directly here:

He will be warped for life. And quite possibly a danger to others.

Dont think they realise it was meant to be sarcastic! (unless I am mistaken)

ladylush · 15/01/2010 09:36

How funny - your thread made it on to national tv FWIW it never occurred to me to put ds in tights (though he is 5 and we didn't have such adverse weather when he was a toddler)but did put him in thermal long johns.

ladylush · 15/01/2010 09:37

Or deliberately took it out of context?

ladylush · 15/01/2010 09:38

Last one was in response to glasgowlass

glasgowlass · 15/01/2010 09:39

That too LL, without knowing a posters posting style it could quite easily be taken out of context! Will watch with interest and see what they do with it.

thedollshouse · 15/01/2010 09:41

I never put ds in tights because he wore a snowsuit but I wouldn't bat an eyelid if I saw a boy in tights, I can't believe that I anyone would.

WeWantYourDoofDoofs · 15/01/2010 10:10

I wonder if he wears tights? He looks like he would... [ponder]

LilRedWG · 15/01/2010 10:30

He wants, "that woman" to call in! Go Hully.

ajandjjmum · 15/01/2010 10:38

DS (17) has work his running tights under his suit trousers several times in this cold weather.

Makes every sense.

monkeypinkmonkey · 15/01/2010 10:42

God that is pathetic, lazy lazy tv!!! Completely missed the point haven't they.

glasgowlass · 15/01/2010 10:42

Matthew Wright, for example.....

Apparently we are all humourless and should not be allowed to reproduce, that is what contraception is for after all!

LittleMrsHappy · 15/01/2010 10:46

I agree with Matthew Right, if people think that by allowing their children who are wearing tights are going to turn them into a "ponce"! or whatever their deluded idea is.

ladylush · 15/01/2010 10:53

The Wrong Stuff

glasgowlass · 15/01/2010 10:54

LL - totally agree

VinegarTits · 15/01/2010 11:24

This Wright fella and his researchers are complete idiots, much?

LittleMrsHappy · 15/01/2010 11:26

Defo agree they are a bunch of idiots, but not on this matter. lol

mayorofwhoville · 15/01/2010 12:20

Am glad that others dress their DSs in tights!

I mentioned it to DH when DS1 was 7 months (ish) as the little blighter kept removing his socks and waving his naked feet at old grannies!

DH said it was a daft idea so we didn't but we have been putting trousers over DS2's babygrows as he is also top notch when it comes to sock removal!

Jbck · 15/01/2010 13:32

BTW that was DH's photo they used, in his long johns

heliotrope · 15/01/2010 13:52

YANBU, but if you need an excuse for some on line shopping, go to babylegs.com and buy leg warmers. They are cool on boys IMO.
