to think that there will be no lasting damage if I send my non RC DD to a RC School?

That's it really.

I have read the various faith school debates on here and I'm not quite sure which side I come down on.

I will not however be faking religion/lying in order to improve DD's chances.

It's just that I'm going to look around a Roman Catholic Middle School tomorrow that has an excellent reputation in the area. What bad thing/s could happen to DD if she went there?

As a side issue, as a previous Rc school girl, and as a mum to RC school girls, I consider it a huge positive that faith schools are mixed in their faith intake. I really welcome the mix. Growing in a complex, questioning, enlightening class/world can only be good for the brain and for the soul.

I feel no draw towards keeping RC schools for the RC's, C of E's for the C of E's, and so on. I think people tend to assume that of RC people in particular which is a shame.

Diversity is so enriching amd healthy. No one wants to pickle in their own juices.

Hi Tree, long time no see.

I love that phrase you used "pickle in their own juices" perfectly applies to a couple of people I know!

A lot of the comments on here are so offensive I can't believe it hasn't been suspended by the moderator.

Imagine if this was a discussion about sending your child to an Islamic school. Would you all be so keen to say "Blimey, she might end up a Muslim!" and "God, all that praying to Allah bollocks!"

I don't have a problem with it either.
There's a reflective side to the way they teach religion in these schools that promotes kindness and genorosity.
If it's the best school on offer educationally then I wouldn't think twice about it.
