YANBU

I wanted to take mine down yesterday by DS1 (5) asked me not to.

Sooooo much mess in my teeny house but I'm going to give it another couple of days.

purepurple · 27/12/2009 09:07

I normally take mine down New Years day, but I did find myself looking at it on Christmas Day, thinking about packing it all away.
YANBU
I might take all the cards down today.

seeker · 27/12/2009 09:10

NOOOOOO! Not til the 6th!!!!!!!

Arsed · 27/12/2009 09:14

The 6th

It'll definatly be down long before then, I've got 2 birthdays to organise... I want a semi clean and ubclutered state to start from.

It's got to be today I think

The 6th!!?? I've already pulled all the boxes out of the loft - the tacky thing is coming down tonight when dd is in bed. I am a humbug and I want my lovely house back. I'm sick of looking at the tacky thing in the corner of the room.

Cybilshoeboots · 27/12/2009 09:23

I'm taking mine down tomorrow. Dusty old thing

Pineapplechunks · 27/12/2009 09:25

Traditionally its the 6th but I've had Christmases where the tree has come down on boxing day because I've wanted it OUT.

You're not being festive or traditional but you're also not BU. If you want it gone, do it.

TheFoosa · 27/12/2009 09:31

Ours is coming down on New Years Day, it went up on the 1st December so very bored

the cat has brought the whole thing down several times

AngryPixie · 27/12/2009 09:34

New Years day for me too, I can't deal with the tree when Christmas was last year! I want a squeaky clean house to start the New Year, this should last for......48 hours???

Arsed · 27/12/2009 09:47

48 minutes if your lucky

cocolepew · 27/12/2009 09:50

I took mine down yesterday.

AnnieBeansMum · 27/12/2009 10:00

I'm so relieved I'm not the only one who wants it down asap. I do love Christmas, but cannot bear all the tacky decorations that come with it. Blech. I am excited to have my minimalist house back tomorrow!!

GypsyMoth · 27/12/2009 10:01

now you're all making me think about taking it down......might do it this afternoon. i hate the tree still up at new year.

StarExpat · 27/12/2009 10:05

It was just DS (14 months) DH and I this christmas. All family is overseas. I had the tree down and everything thoroughly cleaned and organized and in boxes by the end of the day I'm a bit of a cleaning nazi.
And DS was overwhelemed. I had to make room in our tiny 1 bed flat (we're still trying to sell and move!!) for his new toys We all had a briliant day and nothing pleases me more than a nice big tidy and organize!!

Don't shoot me... I'm not a grinch... love xmas, winter wonderland in here from 25th November. I just needed the clutter gone.

HappyChristmasFromKimi · 27/12/2009 10:16

Blondeshavemorefun · 27/12/2009 10:19

however much i hoover once taken tree out, i always find the little buggers days afterwards if not weeks

bah humbug

StarExpat · 27/12/2009 10:20

It's still possible to feel christmasy and have loads of family fun and do festive things if your tree has been taken down. Especially if it's taking up a lot of space in a small place!

vodkaandcoke · 27/12/2009 10:20

Just taken mine down. Bit more room now for the toys!!

ludog · 27/12/2009 10:22

Never before the 6th in this house.

fanjolina · 27/12/2009 10:27

Mine is coming down today. Christmas is over. Back to reality

satc2bringiton · 27/12/2009 10:27

We only put ours up 6 days before Christmas so not ready to take it down yet- (we never put it up early- it must get so boring having it up for almost a month before Christmas.)

Will probably take ours down next Sunday-I go back to work on the 4th and hate seeing the tree when I come home on my first day back.

feralgirl · 27/12/2009 11:44

DH is back to work, new toys have all been found homes, family have (thank god) buggered off therefore tree and decs will be down this evening or tomorrow.

Fed up of needles and having to squint around it to see the TV.
