I haven't even finished having my christmas visitors!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tree will need to stay up til at least 1st Jan in my house - it still has 4 presents under it for the people who are coming soon

jeep · 27/12/2009 12:06

that's pretty miserable!

ilovesprouts · 27/12/2009 12:13

i want to take mine down too cant see the tv as trees in the way in fact they are all coming down after dinner ,dont belive in keeping them up any longer and ds2 keeps pulling the lights off grr

5Foot5 · 27/12/2009 12:18

What a load of miseries there are on here!

Ours will stay until the 6th for sure.

MaggiesManifesto2010 · 27/12/2009 12:19

I take mine down on the first of jan. sick of the sight of it by then!!! you get to have a tidy sitting room which seems big (relatively) and tidy (relatively) for a couple of days.

Katisha · 27/12/2009 12:22

Surely the thing is not to put it up so early in the first place? Chriatmas doesn't start in November.
What happened to the idea of the 12 days of Christmas which end on Jan 6th?

JodieO · 27/12/2009 12:25

I took mine down yesterday, more room for the kids to play with toys now. Rather have it up earlier and take it down earlier.

StarExpat · 27/12/2009 12:25

It's not misery... We're still in the christmas spirit... a tree left up until a specified date is not essential for christmas spirit and happiness in our family. We're having a great time, even without the tree

ilovesprouts · 27/12/2009 15:03

im not a misery ,just took it down so more space by the tv ,and to stop ds2 trashing it !

chegirlwithbellson · 27/12/2009 15:19

I love the build up, hate the aftermath.

Tree is deffo coming down in the next 24 hours.

My excuse is that I want DS3 to feel special on his birthday (like he cares!) so need to get rid of the Christmasy stuff.

Feeling a bit crap. The frenzy and shopping keeps me busy before the day but afterwards there is nothing to distract me. Big fricking hole where DD should be.

So pull the bloody tinsel down and commence diplacement cleaning !

See - I may be mad but at least I have 'insight'

puddinghead · 27/12/2009 15:19

If you put it up more than a week before Christmas, not surprised you're tired of it. I don't get why people start so early with the decorations thing; no wonder the magic has all gone by 25th.
Leave it up for a bit longer.

Awassailinglookingforanswers · 27/12/2009 15:36

tree in the way...........there's a simple solution to that one for next year - buy a smaller tree

Bleatblurt · 27/12/2009 15:39

I didn't even put up a tree this year.
My toddler would have just pulled it down and driven me mad. Have loads of other decorations though and it's like Santa's Grotto in here.

Am so so glad I don't have tree lights to unwind and try to store so they wont get twisted and all the other tree stuff.

pranma · 27/12/2009 18:38

6th January here but it didnt go up till 22nd Dec

BouncingTurtle · 27/12/2009 18:45

I have to say my toddler is very good around our tree.
It's our cat that is the PITA,knocking off the decorations!
We'll be taking ours down at the weekend, probably only because our house is going on the market so need to to do a big tidy up before the estate agents come around to take pics.

Dorothyredboots · 27/12/2009 20:13

Our decorations did not go up until 18th so not fed up with them and will take them down when we return to work on 4th Jan. I think it is far too early to have them up at the beginning of December.

lowenergylightbulb · 27/12/2009 20:19

Mine went up on the 27th of november and will stay up until the 6th of Jan!

I always get tearful when I take my trees down!

nancy75 · 27/12/2009 20:26

i would have my xmas tree all year if i could - i love it. (in fact we have 3 trees this year - much to dps horror!)

mazzystartled · 27/12/2009 20:29

Ours has only been up just over a week so its staying until 3rd at least.

I shall miss it, I always do. House always seems so bare without it.

chegirlwithbellson · 27/12/2009 20:52

They have gone.

Much better.

ilovesprouts · 27/12/2009 20:57

all mine down too thank god house bk to normal

Bleatblurt · 27/12/2009 20:58

I've just put all the Chrismtas stuff away and DH has put it up the attic. I thought my 5 year old would complain but he offered to help! It just seemed so cramped with all the decorations and all the toys! (and a giant train set on a play table thingy)

mumeeee · 27/12/2009 23:25

YABU. Our tree wasn't put up and decorated until the 16th. It's still Christmas here Dh is of for the rest of the week and I've got all my family home.

MrsMattie · 27/12/2009 23:27

I'd leave ours up until New Year's Day, but we're off on holiday on the 29th, so it's coming down tomorrow. It didn't go up until the 19th
