I love them too and I seem to be the only one in the family. Great, more for me. But something must be wrong with my dh and offspring

fairycake123 · 25/12/2009 15:44

I cooked the sprouts today and even my brother liked them, which is really something!
I cut them in half, cored them, and shredded them. Then I chopped some bacon up and fried it, and then added the sprouts and some flaked almonds and cooked until the sprouts had wilted - yummmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

MaryAnnSingleton · 25/12/2009 16:07

GypsyMoth · 25/12/2009 16:11

alypaly · 25/12/2009 16:37

BouncingTurtle · 25/12/2009 16:42

Yum!! YANBU!

upafrozenhill · 25/12/2009 16:44

I'm going to wilt them to and add almonds with the left overs. I have to omit the bacon because I can't eat it. I'm the only one that eats them here. Everybody else has their annual token sprout!!

alypaly · 25/12/2009 16:50

they give me wind

hobnobsaremyfavourite · 25/12/2009 17:06

Me too alypaly but that's not my problem !!! We all eat them so are all producing noxious gases in our house ! Be grateful this chatroom doesn't have a smellyvision option!

Oooh, we love them in our house too - ds (aged 9) even asked for the sprouts first out of all the things on the table for Christmas lunch!

muggglewump · 25/12/2009 17:31

We've just had our dinner, with sprouts and chestnuts. DD had one and pulled faces, she hates them but I make her have one on her Christmas dinner, I ate all mine and loved them.

Sprouts are great.

tulpe · 25/12/2009 17:36

Yep am only sprout lover in this household too

I make a batch for me with pancetta, shallots and chestnuts. Delicious

YANBU - sprouts are just fab! With gravy and lashings of pepper, with vinegar and salt or just on their own. Yummm!!!

CoteDAzur · 25/12/2009 19:42

This is why a lot of people hate Brussels sprouts and OP likes them.

notimetotidy · 25/12/2009 19:55

I hated sprouts for 35 years - then cooked them myself and I can't get enough! (Sorry mum and gran but you boil them to mush!!!)

Love them! Even since I was a little kid and they were "baby cabbages" :D
