Tortington · 25/12/2009 10:41

i love the calmness of two teenagers - one on her phone, the other on the xbox.

i only occasionally hear " i will eat your soul" from ds.

not looking fwd to dinner at the inlaws. esp as i am cooking the turkey and its bound to be shit.

I've been excited for months BUT I'm not moaning. YOU'VE moaned at everyone else for the last two months! [sticks tongue out]

My 5 year old and 2 year old are playing nicely with their trains set and DS1 is even telling his wee brother he will share all his toys with him.

muggglewump · 25/12/2009 10:54

I'm not moaning, I'm having a great day so far, and as I've prepared the dinner over the last few days, the pheasant is in the slow cooker and there's only two of us it's very calm.

I also got fantastic gifts that I wasn't expecting. (well except for one hideous top but I have the receipt so will take it back)

RockBird · 25/12/2009 12:04

I'm moaning. Rushed round like a blue arsed fly to get pressies, Christmas Eve buffet etc. Forgot to get anything for breakfast so we've had stale toast I want bacon butties and bucks fizz. I don't want chocolate, I want grease and calories. I'm bloody starving!

I'm having a lovely time! We've had smoked salmon and scrambled eggs. And bubbly! DH is cooking and dd is quietly painting. We have the Xmas songs cd and I am now MNetting in a slightly squiffy haze.

comefollowthatstarwithme · 25/12/2009 12:41

We are having the best day we have ever had due to the fact I haven't stressed over it for the first time in years.
Dc were up at 7am and are now playing quietly we had bacon and sausage butties and are having an early lunch.
Later we are walking up to my Mum and Dad's for a while am loving it.

Awassailinglookingforanswers · 25/12/2009 13:12

well I was hyping about it, then things changed - but only in recent weeks.

Now wondering if DH will bugger off to see one of his mates or not as the one he was apparently planning and going on seeing (and thought he could take just DS1 with him and leave the other 2 at home with me) has just cancelled.

Arse has only just got in the shower having spent the entire morning in his dressing gown, he did assemble DS3's trampoline though so s'pose I should be grateful for that.

Awassailinglookingforanswers · 25/12/2009 13:16

but no - he couldn't even do that properly (I guess that's what happens when you roll home at 4am on Christmas morning ) - I've just had to stop DS3 playing on it as it's come undone GRR

FolornHope · 25/12/2009 13:40

I'm having a good time, despite falling over this morning and spraining my right hand!!

upafrozenhill · 25/12/2009 16:49

I'm not moaning!! Got a fab Belstaff jacket for my main present of DH. He cooked the dinner which was really yummy as usual. We had a huge laugh at DS2 doing charades and although Ive seen it loads of times all four of us went round the computer and watched the Muppets- Bohemian Rhapsady. This time because every one else was laughing so much and I had wine it was the funniest thing in ages!

They are eating Celebrations and watching The Icredibles and I'm here for half an hour

Life's Good!!

I'm not moaning, I'm having a fantastic day.

We had lunch early and so have spent the afternoon lazing around watching films and drinking wine.

I've just put some more sausages in the oven and I've got some samosas/pakoras etc to go in very soon.

Supper will be help yourself out of the fridge and then I shall think about going to bed.

Flightattendant · 25/12/2009 17:38

Oh dear I was so excited this year, it's the first time I've looked forward to it, ds was really great and we were having fun.

Then yesterday someone horrible sent us a card and wrecked it all. I was in tears and couldn't eat all day, the children played up because they knew I was freaking out, and to top it all ds2 was spiking a temp well over 39 all night, and we got up at 4am in the end.

I feel I have a right to be moaning. It's been shit and now I think I have flu or at least a bad cold.

HOWever the build up was great, I just pray they don't remember Christmas eve being so rubbish...bet they do
