Yes, anti-wrinkle cream for Christmas. Is she trying to tell me something?

If it's posh cream, YABU (and I'll have it)
If it's Tesco own brand etc YAN.

(I've often had this dilemma, being a sucker for lovely face creams and therefore thinking it would make nice presents for others, but have never dared......)

LynetteScavo · 13/12/2009 15:00

Why has she given it to you now? Are you not maiking her work up until Christmas Eve, or are you of to some lucious destination tommorow for the whole of Christmas and new year?

And what have you bought her?

YABU - I can tell form your posts you frown alot and therefor need wrinkle cream.

KurriKurri · 13/12/2009 15:01

As Bucharest says if its posh cream - very nice.
If its some sort of cheapo extra powerful anti wrinkle cream and deodorant combo set, she's trying to tell you something.

poinsettydawg · 13/12/2009 15:03

lol. Maybe you have irritated her on occasion

brimfull · 13/12/2009 15:04

my dh once bought me roc anti wrinkle cream

he is particularly crap at present buying

MollieO · 13/12/2009 15:06

Is it in a gift set (ie she may not have realised it was there) or is it on its own?

hf128219 · 13/12/2009 15:09

It's L'Oreal. Does that make a difference?

OP posts:
poinsettydawg · 13/12/2009 15:13

Yes it makes a difference. It means you are worth it.

MollieO · 13/12/2009 15:16

Why are you undoing Christmas presents so early?

Maybe she is a MNetter - there was a thread recently mentioning a filler type of cream from Loreal that is supposed to be fantastic.

Maybe she is concerned that you'll need to have botox and won't be able to afford to keep her as your cleaner? Sounds like good forward planning on her part!

MayorNaze · 13/12/2009 15:16

buy her the aldi version

poinsettydawg · 13/12/2009 15:18

I am surprised your cleaner is buying you a apresent at all.

KurriKurri · 13/12/2009 15:24

Oh no - L'oreal is one of the most powerful ones. Do you look like Mother Theresa?

sherby · 13/12/2009 15:24

ha ha hf I was hoping when I saw the thread title it would be you

tis karma for the stacking books thread

Tizzyjacko · 13/12/2009 15:25

I'm always pissed off with my cleaner. She's crap, she doesn't clean the house properly at all and she certainly needs wrinkle cream. Maybe I should buy me some.

SausageRocket · 13/12/2009 15:27

Your cleaner buys you xmas gifts ?!

I'll drop down in a dead faint if mine gets me one

hf128219 · 13/12/2009 15:30

She's also bought dh a posh bottle of wine and dd a load of clothes.

OP posts:
GeneHuntsMistress · 13/12/2009 15:46

sorry dunno if YABU or not

but i am sitting her eating the box of choccies i bought for my cleaner i have already cracked and eaten all the other choc i "bought early to save time" for christmas. sigh. it was her chocs or the big tin of Roses. she never dusts my cobwebs so it was her chocs that had to die sadly.

(i will get her some more honest guv)

Goober · 13/12/2009 15:50

YABU.
She is your employee and shouldn't buy you a present anyway. Think yourself bloody lucky.

Hassled · 13/12/2009 15:56

If I had a cleaner and if the hypothetical cleaner bought me ant-wrinkle cream I would adore her forever. If you don't need it now, you'll need it one day.

hf128219 · 13/12/2009 15:59

I am just worried she had splashed out too much. The wine is Pomerol and the clothes are Bonpoint.

OP posts:
SausageRocket · 13/12/2009 16:01

those names mean nothing to me.

why have you opened them already ?

just make sure you give her a nice fat xmas tip and send a lovely thank you letter/card

hf128219 · 13/12/2009 16:04

Because I had to decide what to give her for Chrimbo. Now I am really confused.

MeringueUtan · 13/12/2009 16:05

ooh have just got hte retinox stuff
am ten years younger already

NanaNina · 13/12/2009 16:15

I can't believe that your cleaner is buying you a Christmas present at all as you must have far more money than her and you sound really ungrateful. Presumably you pay her something like the minimum wage - hope she doesn't buy you anything else. You should be grateful not moaning about her choice of present.

SausageRocket · 13/12/2009 16:18

hf, you judge what to get other people on what they got for you ?!

You should get her something lovely, anti-wrinkle cream or no anti-wrinkle cream
