to think "Jeggings" are the most unattractive garment of clothing known to man??

My daughter has asked for a pair for Christmas. Having just returned from the school run and seen several teenage girls wearing them I am appalled that they think this is a good look.

Two girls had them yanked up exposing practically every orafice within their crotch, another with the crotch area around her knees and one rather plump girl looked like what can only be described as the Michelin Man.

Also the fashion for leggings which are made of tights material but because they are sold as leggings there seems no need to cover up anything and you can clearly see the occupants underwear...I am no prude but has this not gone a bit far??? AIBU to think this is all a bit indecent?!

Jeggings confuse me. Are there two types, one that you wear under dresses/long tops and ones that you wear like trousers?

If there are, then many people are getting confused, I saw so many women out yesterday in what only can be descibes as tights with nothing over as you could clearly see pants. Surley they must realise that wearing white pants under thin, stretchy, black material is never a good idea?

I think they are horrible. I do own a pair, but I wear them under my jeans to walk the dogs, like thermals! I would feel horribly exposed wearing them with nothing over the top.

I love leggings but I always wear them with a long top and boots. I thought that was suppose to be the idea but I do see teens wearing very see through ones with small tight tops. Its not a great look. And jeggings - bloody hate them!!!! Awful awful things! I saw a young teen the other day, I'm not sure if they were jeggings or very very tight jeans but they had holes in from the ankles to the waist (at the sides of the legs) and obviously its winter and cold so she had tights on underneath. It looked really awful.

They really need to FIT!Don't get big ones or cheap ones they look awful.A size down with smooth knickers is great woth boots.

Leggings should be worn as tights with arse and fanjo covered. The right size should be worn.

I have honstly not seen one isngle person in jeggings and thought "oh they look nice", wuite the contrary if anything.

Treggings, awful!! They look like johdpurs (I know that isn't spelt right) which are fine when you are going horseriding. And no other time.

YANBU. Same as AboardtheAxiom, I have yet to see anyone look good in jeggings. Those treggings are hideous.

I have some black, more stretchy denim ones and they are fab

The ones that look like super cheap blue denim with the mustard colored seam down the side- those are horrible!!!

Some people suit them - but they are egnerally the people who can wear most things and look OK:

a. Sub-25
b.Sub- size 10
c. Edgy/cool and well accessorized

Unfortunately this does not stop larger/older/uncooler (and I count myself in all those categories BTW) following sheeplike and doning them. It's like all those teenage girls with big tummies INSISTING on wearing low cut jeans with crop tops and jiggling their muffin tops around for the world to see. Why - when there are so many more flattering clothes??

They just look hideous on anyone over a size 10 though (including me, before I get linched!). I have a friend who thinks they are slimming when worn under one of those shirt dresses, but it just looks horrible.

They are only for the young, thin and trendy.

They look fine under a long top and with long boots but only if you have decent legs in them.

my daughters wear them with either shirts or long tops to be honest my youngest looks awful in them she very thin and they make her look even thinner.

I am a 21yo size 8 and I still won't wear them they don't look bad on me but there are things I can wear that look much better on me.
E.G I have big hips and so a pair of hipster flares with a nice top and boots look really great but leggins make me look fat I do have one pair that I wear out drinking but they are the black tight ones and I wear them with a red tarton cheer leading skirt some red shoes and a plain black top the effect is good
