In hating the term LO

My very first AIBU.

I cannot stand the term Little One or LO. Its a phrase that is creeping out everywhere. Its so ugh and cutsie and twee. They are children. We don't need a euphemism for child.

Oh I love the term 'little one' and use it for my ds quite a lot. I think it's handy on here when talking about a baby as opposed to an older child.

I do agree that LO brings to mind 'learning objective' though. Not keen on DC's- you wouldn't say 'dear childrens'!

I abhor most initialisms used here because a) they're often revoltingly twee and b) incomprehensible to any outsider, so that they need to consult a list before they can understand what the hell people are talking about. I just use the proper words.
