yeah, I think that's a bit silly personally. The risks are low but it's an unecessary risk.

I liked my gin, personally

Not unreasonable imho - but people will judge you...

I also ate 'bad' cheese. It was pretty much all I could face in the first few weeks.

When I was preggers all that stuff wasn't fashionable/hadn't been invented.

I'd hate to be pregnant now with all these rules and regulations.

Oooh I missed dippy eggs then I found some on hols in Devon that were from chickens vacinated against salmonella (or some such nonsense) and was in heaven again.

I've never understood why you aren't advised to avoid chicken and rice during pregnancy, as these are the most common sources of food poisoning, and pretty serious food poisoning at that.

Christmas moon All eggs with the kitemark on are salmonella free. It's another ridiculously OTT rule imposed on pregnant women.

I craved cider with DS2 - weird as I normally hate apple juice let alone cider. Enjoy but I would just make sure that it is well in date and from a reputable source

Another 'look at me see how risqué I am' thread, about your precious baby.

I'd rather be entirely boring, thanks.

Or subway sandwiches

It was six years ago lula, was it the same then? If so why didn't they just tell me that and put me out of my misery??!

Leave the woman alone.

I assume you never left the house when pregnant with your precious baby, surely the risks of getting mown down by a bus are higher

TheDevilWearsPrimark · 18/11/2009 15:06

Oh god even the smell of subway makes me retch

I'm pregnant and will do what I like, and vice versa. Different people and their experiences, I think.

I don't really know Christmasmoon. It seems someone out there just likes denying us the things we love.

I had a serious pineapple addiction too, I'd eat them until my lips stung.

And laughed at a concerned friend who told me I'd induce early labour.

YABU, not worth the risk.

I craved blue cheese all the way through pregnancy. So I grilled it on toast, and made lots of stilton sauces (all cooked)

It's not about food poisoning, it's about listeria.

But for either as long as everything is cooked thoroughly it is safe.

bastards!

Scorps - That wasn't the intention at all. I wasn't saying look at me putting my baby's life at risk at all.
Just highlighting that as a pregnant woman everything seems out of bounds nowadays.
I don't drink.
I don't smoke.
I don't take drugs.

I've had some blue cheese...so shoot me.

I also remember my sister being absolutley appalled at me putting raspberry jam on my toast. She had got it mixed up with raspberry leaf

This is all going to go a bit judgeypants now.

TDWP - I think you have to eat about 50 (whole pineapples) to even "maybe" risk induction
