I cull anyone I can't understand. I do like a good bit of culling.

Portofino · 18/11/2009 13:34

I have quite frightened myself by being able to read that! If you banned morons, facebook would have to shut.....

Oh dear. What is happening to the English language?

Pikelit · 18/11/2009 13:43

If they can't even write properly in txt, they get expunged.

Actually, I lie. If they write in txt at all they are history. If they are other people's people then I snigger, scornfully.

Mermaidspam · 18/11/2009 13:51

I think a good cull is in order

Sassybeast · 18/11/2009 13:55

And if they have full on screaming rows with friends/partners and families 'cringe'

Ladyanonymous · 18/11/2009 14:54

I hide people who do my head in..one such friend would just post constant obsenities directed at her lastest squeeze such as "You're a wanker you know who you are...you'll get yours" and other such witless sentiments, wondered why she kept going out with men seeing as she hates them so much and to publisise how shit challenged she is in the relationship dept made it all the more perplexing...I also struggle, where there is a status update with spelling errors, not to comment with corrections....also depressing updates, RIP updates, anything which doesn't make me laugh updates......maybe its me and I need to go and get a life

TheMonster · 18/11/2009 15:13

I had to cull a couple of people who had updates that were obviously meant to be digs at someone (maybe me. Who knows). If you can't say it to their face then don't say it at all.

I keep my facebook friends to a minimum. If I don't want to spend a lot of time with them in RL, then I sure as hell don't want to know what they've had for lunch etc.

CJCregg · 18/11/2009 16:37

I am so with you. For some reason the past few weeks have been particularly bad. Endless bloody photos of newborns and scans with 15 comments each along the lines of 'shes gooorjus, when u wana meet up?', drive me insane. I have a couple of nieces, 18 and 22, and thought it would be a good way of keeping up with their lives but I'm going to have to hide them, I can't stand it any longer.

Especially the teenagers whose status updates are always about how 'tired' they are. FFS! (shows age)

aweaninamanger · 18/11/2009 16:46

YANBU but if you are going to go on about language please bear in mind Moron is not a nice word and i personally find it quite offensive

groundhogs · 18/11/2009 16:54

An idea for a new FB application:

Facebook Assassin. Puts a button on the feed page, and a vote button next to 'friends' status feeds.

3 strikes, they are HISTORY...

CornishKK · 18/11/2009 17:02

If moron applies to people with an IQ of between 51-70 it would seem to be the correct term to use judging by the text the OP pasted?

And OP, YANBU.

KimiTheThreadSlayer · 18/11/2009 17:17

Moron is Welsh for carrot

potplant · 18/11/2009 17:24

Am I the only one who has no idea what that status update is saying?

I had a terrible FB 'crash' and I accidentally on purpose deleted loads of people. I went from about 100 people to 30 and they are the people whose pics and status updates I am acutally interested in.

SparklyGothKat · 18/11/2009 17:27

whats does that status update actually say in the OP post??

tvaerialmagpiebin · 18/11/2009 17:29

"Has jst got up a know a sed a wntd a lie in bt nw half t day has gone so dnt luk lyk am gan xmas shopin agen.grrrrr"

So-and-so..... "has just got up, I know I said I wanted a lie-in but now half the day has gone so don't think it looks like I am going Christmas shopping again. Grrrr."

In my defence, I have an 18-year old brother.

BouncingTurtle · 18/11/2009 17:35

Sounds like something my brothers would write... and they're 27!

OP - YANBU

Kimi - I never knew that!

VengefulSinner · 18/11/2009 17:46

Oh dear god.

I have plenty of youngsters on my list and not a single one of them would write incomprehensible shite sentences like that!

Although I was able to decipher it

I also recently had a lovely cull taking me from 230 odd to 99. Most of them had been on limited profile anyway!

If someone was constantly updating in that style they would have to go or be hidden.

chegirl · 18/11/2009 18:06

I have one girl on my list. I am not even sure who she is. I think she may have known my DD.

She updates every 10 mins or so with 'jst gt outa bed. Fcuking coleg dnt wanna go'

And 'I luv my man wiv all my hart, two weeks 2day'

She is 18.

I know I should cull her but I find her oddly fascinating.

I have loads of teenage DN and DNs and I cant bear to get rid of them although they post utter rubbish most of the time. At least I get to keep and eye on them, they forget I am there
