I was browsing through some old threads earlier, and the general standard of debate has dropped. People here used to be able to follow a thread and give a pertinent response, backed up with careful research. Lately the response is likely to be completely unrelated to the original point, and passive-aggressive to boot.

of course it's a clique. don't be in clique denial, shiny. this place needs cliques, it's got so big, don't be ashamed.

i just don't want to talk about healthy eating...

but they are, but they have to assimilate pretty quickly and join an existing conversation or they'll drop back out again. being on a clique thread requires a commitment that i'm not prepared to make. just join the body of the kirk.

bibbitybobbityhat · 09/11/2009 10:26

Colditz - just out of interest - why do you say "in the last year" in your op? I was quite happy until a few months ago really. I went on holiday, DM outrage blew up, came back and everyone had namechanged, including me!

Interruptingkid - (2 days later my outlook has decided a message from mnhq is Junk) clip round ear and know yer place you little scrote.

Madamedefarge - (whispers) I find your adversary repellent too.

Swedes2Turnips0 · 09/11/2009 10:29

I'm starting a clique for Mumsnetters with farting fannies who did not wear a tiara or fascinator at their first or second wedding. Is that more up your street, Aitch?

AitchTwoToTangOh · 09/11/2009 10:49

i have worn a fascinator to my brother's wedding, though, does that mean i'm out? no headgear at all at my own, it wasn't that sort of a 'do.

CitizenPrecious · 09/11/2009 10:51

Bib smee, preciouslillywhite...what's the story, can you give me a tiny hint?? [shamelessly claiming Down-my-Ends privileges ]

...plus for someone who's not very happy on here I do seem to be bumping into you quite a lot

[quizzical barrister type emoticon]

CitizenPrecious · 09/11/2009 10:54

and Shiney- I've lurked a bit on your healthy eating thread and it does seem fun

...but don't want to be part of any quiche that would have me as a member

[one of the newbie bussed in Village Idiots emoticon- involves tongue hanging out and half closed eyes]

bibbitybobbityhat · 09/11/2009 10:57

As I said Lily, wish I had the willpower to just fuck off. But, y'know, am still fond of the mothership. And have been checking in most days for 3 years. Tis a hard habit to break. Am home today with poorly ds so you'll keep on bumping into me today!

I miss the very funny threads. Like poems for Threadie's dead guinea pig.

But - eh? what story?

CitizenPrecious · 09/11/2009 11:04

Ah, don't fuck off. I like you

also- where to go? the ED forum is vair, vair dull these days...

I meant the adversary. Don't worry, I'll have a proper look myself!

[lazy as arseholes emoticon]

bibbitybobbityhat · 09/11/2009 19:49

InterruptingKid for I know you love bolding, not now: too busy

Quattrofangs · 09/11/2009 22:52

That poster who stayed at home and elaborated that her day consisted of baking 17th century recipes and nutting has positively lived with me. And not just because of the Wordsworth allusion. I simply can't imagine that sort of existence. But as far as I can recall she didn't have any children living at home.
