To have told the women their rudeness lost them a sale?

muggglewump · 07/11/2009 15:35

So I was just in town, and went in to a shop where they had a gorgeous dress in the window. I had phoned about it last week so knew it was £54.
I went in to get it, and saw some boots too priced at £99.99

Now I never buy myself anything new, but have just been paid and also my last maintenance payment of £500 has just come. (4 months money and I have to get my ex investigated now as he has fiddled his taxes).

The three assistants were all serving one man, who apparently was buying a lot. Fair enough they want his sale, but were so dismissive, not even apologising for the wait.
Surely one man didn't need all three women?

Anyway, after 10 minutes of waiting around, I went up, told them they has just lost a possible sale of over £150, and left.

So am I?

Yup, that's the one I saw too. Ignore me then

muggglewump · 07/11/2009 18:57

No, that's not the one.
There was no tie on the one I saw and it was much more dress than that looks.
It's quite a chunky cable knit and has pockets, though the colour is very similar.

I loved the cardigan too. Black, and a coat cardigan.

I'm upping my letter of complaint from stern, to very stern now I see that I can't order online.

Those boots will be mine though

YANBU at all. I hate that kind of arrogance but has been said before the shop staff probably don't care as they get paid regardless (until takings go down due to shite service and the store shuts down)so write that letter now.

Customer service is number 1 priority in my business and I HATE shoddy service from others .

I once waited for ages whilst 2 shop assistants had a full on discussion about some rubbish or other. They ignored me even though I was standing about 2 feet in front of them (and I'm not easy to miss ). So when they eventually put my numerous purchases through the till I waited until they told me the total cost and said "sorry I've changed my mind - you've wasted my time and now I'll waste yours" and I walked out while they had to refund the items from the till and put it back on the shelves. mwhahaha

piprabbit · 08/11/2009 00:50

It's not this dress is it?

KiwiKat · 08/11/2009 00:56

Am liking the boots.

Booyhoo · 08/11/2009 01:02

tidy i love it

muggglewump · 08/11/2009 01:06

No, it's not that dress.

TidyBush, good for you. (and your name makes me smile)
I'm still so cross at not getting my boots or dress today.

Honestly Woman, go and self flagelate with a birch rod until you bleed for even considering spending any money on yourself! However I hope I have helped you out with the below - am rudely assuming that you are looking for black, and that you might be a size 6 (national av isn't it?) if so then I have found the boots I think! although they might cost a bit more (£4) but you wouldn't have to go in to the rudest shop ever!

are these the boots?

Will continue looking for the stockists of the dress for you!

GColdtimer · 08/11/2009 08:36

YANBU at all. I hate rudeness in shops - if I treated my clients in the way some shopkeepers treat their customers i wouldn't have a business.

(But the last time I told someone she had lost a sale because of her rudeness her DH pushed my mum, DD and I out of the shop, resulting in charges being pressed for assult so this is a bit of a bug bear of mine!)

hophophippidtyhop · 08/11/2009 08:54

Have found these links by putting lola espeleta in google and clicking uk only here, in aberdeen andthis one in france but they may post out. There's a couple more over glasgow way, but they might be the shop you're talking about! There's a cable knit dress on the first link by someone else called blend she. Hope that helps!

muggglewump · 08/11/2009 12:06

It's not on there either and I'm going to Aberdeen in a couple of weeks so I could have bought it there if they had it

I am nearish Glasgow, on the Clyde.

Twofalls, did you post about that on here?
I think I remember reading it and being shocked.

shockers · 08/11/2009 12:23

Those boots are lovely!
Do you really think you deserve to be stylish though... that money is for school socks and riding lessons don't you know? Haven't you got a velour tracksuit with 'slut' across the bum and some trainers that would do?

muggglewump · 08/11/2009 12:34

I don't have a tracksuit, sadly, but I did have Playboy trainers a few years back
They were cheap and you couldn't tell what brand they were when I had my jeans on.

I wonder if Allnew will come back and explain?
I could do with some entertainment. DD is watching CBBC channel again. God I hate Tracey Beaker.

mosschops30 · 08/11/2009 12:37

why are you all so shocked at allnews post. She is renowned (on some of my threads anyway) for posting something completely ridiculous, then disappearing when challenged.
Rarely has anything useful to say IMHO

OP - i think you are well within your rights to spend that money as you see fit, from someone who didnt have a payment for 8 years, I know what its like And also YANBU to be like that with the shop assistants, I hate that type of rudeness. Did you feel a bit Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman 'big mistake, huge, I have to go shopping now'

maybe she's your Mn stalker moss

mosschops30 · 08/11/2009 13:59

nah, mamag has that title (in the nicest possible way though)

ive just seen allnew say a few controversial things on threads and its a bit tiresome IMHO

itsmeolord · 08/11/2009 14:10

this is a site that you can use to find stockists of lola espeleta clothing, you could then ring if and find out if they have the dress.

Tidybush, you are an evil genius and I think I love you!

GColdtimer · 08/11/2009 16:37

I did post about it on here muggle. Teamedward, the cps are still waiting to decide if they are going to press charges, caution him or drop it. Its taking so long because there are 3 police forces involved and they have faffed around getting more witness statements etc. They have until 23 Nov to make a decision but he was actually arrested and questioned. He denied it of course.

Jacksmama · 08/11/2009 19:25

Hey shiney, where did the lightning rod thread go??

twofalls, I lost your thread in my Threads I'm On but was wondering what happened. Do post an update, ok? Your experience was shocking.

Moss - how's your back?

I hate rudeness in shops, BTW.

As you were.
