to be perfectly happy with sunday morning jiggy time?

Is it just us, or do other couples , have a set time/day once a week for 'adult time' (I am trying to be polite because I am quite prude!!)

(we have been together 8 years, have a 3yr old and a bump at 38 weeks)

We co-sleep with 3 year old, have from early on, and on on Sunday morning, hubby takes him downstairs and puts telly on for him to keep him otherwise engaged!!

It was not always like this, we were, lets say, rather more spontaneous when we were newly wed!! We have just settled into a pattern, where we both know where we stand and I particularly enjoy the routine, and look forward to Sundays all the more!!

Does anyone think this is unreasonable?? Or quite normal??

is it just the once a week then?
yanbu to look forward to 'adult time'

hanaboo · 30/10/2009 19:03

sorry, if that was a bit rude asking...

eggontoast · 30/10/2009 19:04

Not as rude a posting!!! Yes, JUST once a week! But, I like it all the more because it is just once!!! Something to look forward to.

bergentulip · 30/10/2009 19:06

Ivykaty44 · 30/10/2009 19:06

Each to their own, my mates parents do it on a saturday tea time, so no one must telephone! Sometimes apparently it is such a quicky sshe keeps her slippers on

hanaboo · 30/10/2009 19:09

eggontoast... if it works for you both then thats great! not unreasonable in the slightest.. enjoy
oh, and don't u have a gd ds, my dd would never leave us to it she'd be coming upstairs every other minute

hanaboo · 30/10/2009 19:10

@ saturday tea time pmsl

Grendle · 30/10/2009 19:11

I am also 38 weeks and think YABU for showing off about still finding time for/wanting/enjoying jiggy time at this stage .

We have no set pattern. We've always found ways to be spontaneous, despite co-sleeping, although the frequency has declined, as the tiredness with 2 (almost 3) young dcs tends to be a bit overwhelming.

Ew ew ew ew ew at IvyKaty's mates parents letting their poor offspring know that (a) they even have sex and (b) when

eggontoast · 30/10/2009 19:13

hanaboo - Sometimes, we do hear the pitter patter of feet on the stairs! The joy of parenthood!

lol 'teat time'

monkeyfacegrace · 30/10/2009 19:15

My goodness, my OH would go crazy if he could only have it once a week! Nope, in this house the kids have always been firmly in their own rooms from 16 weeks(ish) and we are at it every night and every morning. Keeps me smiling all day!

MamaGoblin · 30/10/2009 19:16

I miss Sunday Morning Jiggy Time. Now we have 19m DS, who prefers to watch his telly in company.

YANBU to be perfectly happy - I should be so lucky!

eggontoast · 30/10/2009 19:16

Grendle: Well, DO NOT form mental pictures of 38 weeks being jiggy!!

Come to think about it, I might up the frequency a bit, just because I know it will be about 6 months before we get back to it after birth! I guess I am making the most of my body before it is wrecked !! It makes jiggy quite interesting when you have a bump to work round!

eggontoast · 30/10/2009 19:18

Grendle, if you thought I was showing off - look at the little monkey!!! Monkey, you go girl!!!

Haha its a bit of standing joke between our group of friends. We lasted 4 days after the birth of DS2 before we were at it again! Im a total 100% believer in the fact that sex is not a chore, its amazing and nothing can make you closer to your man.

Jujubean77 · 30/10/2009 19:22

wow every night and morning, I am living in another world....

eggontoast · 30/10/2009 19:26

I think libido is perhaps an appetite - some people just have a bigger one!

Best all round if both partners have the same size though!

eggontoast · 30/10/2009 19:28

And FOUR DAYS?? How on earth is that possible?? I was still sore ish 6 - 12 MONTHS after birth! And bleeding for a month!! Perhaps you are both ADDICTED!!!!

OP posts:
Twintummy · 30/10/2009 19:28

Lucky you for having DC that let you have Sunday morning jiggy time!! My DD who is 7 would never allow it.

We have sex whenever we are not too tired and once DC3 are all in bed and hopefully in deep sleep. DD has walked in a few times as she's a terrible sleeper and her sense of timing is shocking .

YABU to call it jiggy time.

eggontoast · 30/10/2009 19:30

cornsilk - what should I say on here then??

OP posts:
monkeyfacegrace · 30/10/2009 19:31

LOL eggs! My son was only just over 4lb (very prem), and was a doddle to pop out, so apart from the bleeding (sorry to be so direct but who cares about that!) I wasn't too sore.
Come on guys, there have to be more of you who have a healthy sex life, Im feeling like an outsider!
But having said that, if you are happy having your planned session, then I say good for you! Everyone is different.
