...and wondering if I can get away with wearing them again tomorrow.

I have hardly any clothes that fit (recently lost 2 stone and cant afford much new) and my 6 year old Levis finally fit. My first day off work (Wed) I wore them - they have no dirty marks or stains on them, and I have worn them every day since without washing them. Am now wondering if I can get away with wearing them tomorrow, before work Monday. Its horrible washing/drying weather at the moment, so surely if they are cleanish I can get away with wearing them?!

AIBU?

i imagine if i were in close contact with people for any length of time e.g. in an office i might wash (clothes, i wash every day :P) more often, but frankly, as a sahm, it's likely to get covered in gin playdough as soon as i put it on anyway.

god no isittooearly is just a contraction of one of my many previous names (i often go by the initials mf, but wouldn't expect anyone to recongise me/care when i namechange).

I bet these weirdos people who wash clothes after wearing them once actually iron them too

haven't ironed anything in such a long time, think my entire family in the event of a fire would be most flammable items ever. Does this make me the skankiest mum on this thread?

I own an iron. It lives right at the back of the cupboard under the sink behind the cleaning stuff and the tinfoil.

It's a terrifying implement. I think I've been too conditioned by public service ads and articles in the local paper about toddlers scalding themselves on them. And they're really heavy and have fascinating cords.

Best to keep them well way from children IMO as in not getting them out at all.

This is quite relevant as on the way out earlier I noticed I had a load of biscuit smeared on my jeans (thanks dd). But I went out anyway!

I am in agreement with the crotch test people. It's been a good few weeks for my jeans so far, but I suppose now I've noticed they're dirty I should do something about it. Lord knows when our bedding was last done

OMG don't put worn clothes back in wardrobe! Forget Eugh factor (I don't care, I'm not in your house ) but
moths like worn clothes (and then the little bastards will move on to your clean ones)

Moths? Irons? Washing after one wear?

I must be the skankiest person on the planet! Tops, undies and socks get washed after one wear - everything else gets put back in the wardrobe if it's still clean.

I have no idea how long I've been wearing each pair of jeans - if it still looks clean and doesn't stink, it goes back for another wear!

I don't iron - everything is hung on the airer or line, and when it's dry I sort stuff that needs ironing and wait til I have a full load, then it gets a 5-minute tumble in the dryer on Hot then is folded. I figure that is cheaper than standing ironing for an hour!

Oh I don't put them in a wardrobe so that must be ok. They just sit on the floor until the next wearing

If the gusset is not smelly and no stains on them wear them. I frequently wear mine for about a week.

Infact people probably think I never wash them as I have four pairs of the exact same jeans.

moths is mostly geography tbh, i think london has it worse than most [smug non-london smiley]. i spin so i have a lot of animal fibres lying around, i make bags of moth repellant herbs (um, catmint, lavender are the only ones i can remember right now, but google brings them all up), but tbh there's not much more you can do other than storing things clean and checking/turning drawers etc. as often as possible to check infestations.

if you do have them there's a freeze-thaw thing you can do to get rid but is a massive pita afaik.

If I could or if I ever can get into any pair of jeans I had 6 years ago I will put them on and never take them off. Good for you. Usually I am covered in something revolting within 30seconds of getting dressed so can generally only make it through the day.
