I mean, how much hair does the average woman have???

And frankly, it's enough to put you off bothering.

When you go at opening time, when there is only you and 20 or so over 70s, you tend not to care so much...

KEAWYED · 01/10/2009 20:10

haha I'm sat here now thinking should I or shouldnt I

KEAWYED · 01/10/2009 20:11

Just tuck the stragglers in and pull your batho down a bit

busybutterfly · 01/10/2009 20:13

Yeeeuch, thought you were talking about how taking the kids means too much preparation...will retire quietly from this thread

pointydoug · 01/10/2009 20:14

yanbu. I hate swimming. After the mammoth body shave is completed beforehand, I then have hair from hell to contend with afterwards and a red blotchy face.

PeachesMcLean · 01/10/2009 20:18

I need a full length bathing costume I think.

"Boyleg" swimsuit helps a lot!

PeachesMcLean · 01/10/2009 20:21

And one of those bathing machines to transport me into the water.

I've been going swimming a lot recently and I am planning to invest in a short-like style swimming costume...

freename · 01/10/2009 20:37

HAHA! ..boy leg swimsuits rule! And no one notices a small amount of regrowth unless they brush past you in the water...ouch

paisleyleaf · 01/10/2009 20:55

I like taking my DD swimming because it makes me shave my legs once a week.

lovechoc · 01/10/2009 21:12

that's a good one paisleyleaf! lol.

It does take preparation, but if you do it the night before you plan on swimming then it's usually fine.

I was taking DS once a week but I always am one of the first mums in the pool (sad, I know!) but I like to leave early so it works out well for DS and myself. Haven't been for a few months, just laziness really. Might go next week...

sambo2 · 01/10/2009 21:13

It has been puzzling me for a while and now I know why a mum at my pool wears a swimsuit + shorts in the pool!

biscuitsmustbedunkedintea · 01/10/2009 21:16

Just agreed to go with my mum and DD tomorrow. Forgot about the preparation. Ah well, at 28 wks pregnant I'm not going to be able to reach, but hey ho, the bump will overhang, no-one will notice right?

lisasimpson · 01/10/2009 21:21

I wear shorts style bottoms for this reason, don't bother shaving the legs though too often!

Hassled · 01/10/2009 21:21

You need a swimsuit with legs. It looks insane, but means you have no excuses. And no one notices the lower leg hair - I just disregard it completely.

Prosecco · 01/10/2009 21:25

I agree. Its awful. And then when I do tidy up, I always get red itchy spots so feel people must be staring anyway, thinking OMG, look at how mush she has had to remove!

mawbroon · 01/10/2009 21:26

I have a swimsuit with shorts over the top too.

Prosecco · 01/10/2009 21:26

Much not mush

choosyfloosy · 01/10/2009 21:32

God I must say it's never occurred to me to bother to shave for a swimming trip. anyone who's staring at my upper thighs at the pool must have problems i can't solve by grooming.

monkeypinkmonkey · 01/10/2009 21:38

I so don't want to be the lady that all the local kids snigger about when you walk past, however last week I may have forgotten about the preperation I think even I was sniggering at me

PeachesMcLean · 01/10/2009 21:41

I don't just mean bikini line.

And shorts with swimsuit? Isn't that just, well, a bit weird?

OP posts:
hf128219 · 01/10/2009 21:45

Get yourselves a good waxing women.

mawbroon · 01/10/2009 21:47

Mine are boys speedo shorts in the same colour as my swimsuit.

You can buy swimsuit/shorts combos, so why is it weird?

It helps to avoid the wholly unattractive look when coming off the flumes with ones swimsuit half way up ones arse.

KEAWYED · 01/10/2009 22:18

I've just got back pulled the batho down at the front and ran in the pool didnt even think to check my legs
