I mean, how much hair does the average woman have???

And frankly, it's enough to put you off bothering.

I can't be arsed shaving before swimming - I never notice anyone else in the pool and i don't really care who's looking at me. Mind you I do go to the work gym, and I work in a university, so the vast majority of people there are students, no giggling kids or oldies. Plus I have very fair hair so my body hair isn't too noticeable. I guess I'm lucky really!

And then there's the fake tan.

Honestly, I'm a kind of persil white. If I'm going to a swanky pool, I feel I shoudl dress accordingly.

It never used to be as bad. The older I get the more the hair..um..spreads. Is that normal?

YanknCock · 01/10/2009 23:05

Pixel, I can sympathise. I have PCOS, and ever since I went off the pill that was controlling my androgen levels, the hair has indeed spread. My waxing lady assures me I'm not the hairiest client she has, but I'm paying her...I think she says that to all the sasquatches

There's also the swimming costumes that are more like a very short dress. Hides ungroomed bikini line, tummy bulge, upper thigh cellulite, and orange peel arse very well. (Or maybe it doesn't, but if not, let me persist in my delusion)

PlumpRumpSoggyBaps · 01/10/2009 23:14

Not a freak, pixel. Or if you are, I am too.

I was recently having this very conversation with my mother and sister and jokingly remarked that it wasn't so much that I needed a bikini wax as a shorts wax. There was suddenly one of those deafening silences, with tumbleweed blowing past.....

I have resorted to carrying ds2 in front of me as we leave the pool. I keep meaning to book a wax but never seem to actually get around to it.

I have PCOS too, so that's probably why. I've been spending a lot of time plucking dark hairs out of my chin too. Oh the joys of getting older!
I've got a tankini with the shorts-type bottoms but I still have to watch for the odd stray hair, perhaps I should leave them and let them dangle, like an attractive fringe.

Lol at carrying ds in front. Mine is 9, I think I would collapse.
