Can you tell me what you think this means please?

I am a newbie/visitor.
My friend posts on here and she told me to come on and ask what this word means, as we have had a disagreement and she is laughing at me :-(
What, to you, is a "Fluffer" ?
She says that the ladies on Mumsnet will point me in the right direction.
Sorry to post on this section, she told me to but it doesn't look like the right one to me.

A fluffer is a lady who "warms" up actors in a porn film.

Someone who gets pornstars excited enough to be able to perform, I thought.

But on QI they said it was also something to do with the tube system in London, cleaning the tracks or something, I can't quite remember.

Or possibly someone who farts a lot.

I thought a 'Fluffer' is someone who gets porn stars ready for a film shoot. You know, tweaking nipples, rubbing on the baby oil, that sort of thing!

What itsmeolord said. I think some also work on mens underwear advert photo shoots too, to make sure the "package" is showing to its full advertising value... (ie not as much as in a porn film, but also not the last chicken in the shop)

Loads of them, HarrogateMum. I hear it's a veritable den of iniquity over there. Porn capital of the UK, is Harrogate.

(Disclaimer: My geography is very bad indeed, and I don't know actually know where Harrogate is. I'm just in a silly mood.)

Wow what a lot of replies, thank you.
Tidey may God bless you forever for mentioning the London Underground. That's what I thought it was to do with. But only one of you has said that which is worrying :-(
I think I ought to explain. My Dad was always mad keen on all things underground - caves, tunnels, the tube, everything. We used to go on the tube a lot and some of his enthusiasm rubbed off on me. I always loved the idea of being on the underground when it was quiet.
Anyway, I was talking to a mum coming back from school and she said she had got a new job. When I asked doing what she hesitated and said as a Fluffer.
Having the background I have, I said, 'Oh, I'd love to do that. Do they need any more people?'
She gave me a bit of a funny look as after all who'd think anyone would love to go down the tube tunnels picking out bits of rubbish? (Me, Me! Hubby can look after the children at night, we won't have to pay childcare, it'd be a dream come true!)
She said they might need more people and she'd get me the number. She gave me the number today and it's just a mobile number with a dodgy sounding man's name. Which made me feel uneasy for some reason. I don't know why - I didn't really expect it to be the switchboard of 55 Broadway, but trust your instincts, they always say.
I confided this to my Mumsnet friend and she spat her drink everywhere and told me the porn version.
So here I am, wondering what to do next.

And in spite of your life long love of London Underground, you haven't been able to find a phone number for them to see if they are recruiting?

I hope you enjoyed reading the replies. Did anything else 'rub off' on you?
