I am a newbie/visitor.
My friend posts on here and she told me to come on and ask what this word means, as we have had a disagreement and she is laughing at me :-(
What, to you, is a "Fluffer" ?
She says that the ladies on Mumsnet will point me in the right direction.
Sorry to post on this section, she told me to but it doesn't look like the right one to me.
Thx in advance xx

Well that's the thing, iheartdusty, I don't think she did tell me that she now has a job working in porn films. As you say, why the hell would she?

I would imagine menial work would be contracted out, so I would expect an agency would be dealing with it. As I said, I wouldn't have expected it to be head office, which is why I wouldn't try to phone them, but you are right perhaps I should.

Also I have googled in a panic and Wikipedia says what someone else on here said, that they don't use fluffers for porn now because of viagra and digital cameras (not sure what the latter have got to do with it). It also said that lots of jobs are called Fluffers.

Seems a Fluffer can be a whole range of things...here

LaurieFairyCake · 30/09/2009 13:36

That is an excellent joke.

There is no way some random mum told you her job was a fluffer

Knickers0nmahead · 30/09/2009 13:37

Who is your 'friend' then?

MiniMarmite · 30/09/2009 13:38

ROFL!!!!

Don't care if it is true or not

Kazzer99 · 30/09/2009 13:38

Unless she didn't know the 'rude' meaning of it either?

I don't know what my friend's name on mumsnet is Knickers0nmahead. I wish I did. She didn't tell me no one would believe me :-(

I don't care if this is true or not- it really made me laugh. xx

Kazzer99 · 30/09/2009 14:10

What should I do though?
It might be exactly the job I thought it was.
Do I pluck up the nerve to call, it looks like Dmitri? and ask what the job entails?
My mumsnet friend was no help, her suggested questions were:

  • Do you supply protective clothing?
  • How long will I have to go down for?
  • Will I need to learn to handle any difficult tools?

Cow

He he he! This thread has brightened up my rather appalling day!

MiniMarmite · 30/09/2009 14:20

Welcome to Mumsnet Kazzer99 - we're all quite friendly really I promise
