To let my 9 year old become a latch key kid......

......as clearly all my friends are pedophiles and axe murderers according to the government and unless I pay to get them all vetted by the nanny state I will soon be breaking the law to ask my friend to pick DS2 up from school the one day a week I go to take my disabled mother out.
I shall give DS2 a key and tell him to walk home alone across 2 main roads, (better get him a reflective vest as dark nights are coming) and when he get in I shall tell him to cook the dinner and sweep the chimney!!!!!!

[DISCLAIMER PLEASE NOTE I HAVE NO SUCH INTENTION I AM JUST FED UP WITH THE WHOLE NANNY STATE]

What I remember hearing in the news is that the two police woman were doing something illegal by looking after each other kid in their own house. What they said was that had police woman1 looked after policewoman2' Dcs in policewoman2's house it would have been ok and vice versa..

Now, someone please explain to me what difference does that make where the child is looked after? If the person has good intentions towards the child she will still have them in her own home and if she has bad intentions they will not change because it is the child's own surroundings? non?
