Not just talking about the pizza thread mmrsceptic.Just don't know why so many threads have to go down the same line - e.g.
Why don't people just control their children, mine would never do xxxx, yadda yadda yadda.....
Its not exactly sympathetic/empathetic to the fact that a lot of mums try very hard!

why shouldn't they say that? maybe it's true that their children wouldn't, and maybe it's true that they think people should control their children better

If it makes any difference - I think I should control my children better , so we are all in agreement!

I think it would be nice to have a universal recognition that there are (a lot) of parents out there who try (and fail) to instil discipline.
Its often implied by some MNers that if a child misbehaves, then this is as a result of parents not being arsed to bring their children up properly, and teach them right from wrong.

if you're in say a situation like wot we were talking about you can generally see what's going on if you've been a parent yourself and often if you haven't

judging means thinking you are superior: i just don't like it when i see it

i don't mean to sound complacent but it does sound complacent

It is very easy to produce a well behaved child and if you don't well if you've been a parent you'll know what I mean.

What I can't stand are parents who let their children run riot you know what I mean if you have, especially when they're not even English, People that haven't will know, won't they? Then whose fault will it be?

I don't know... Trying is important, more important than outcome sometimes but I quite enjoy the odd bit of smug, where better than MN to share it too?

It's not easy to produce a well behaved child and even well behaved children can have off days... trying is important!

I don't see how it's hard to control them. You stop them from doing unacceptable things. It's not rocket science and it's not beyond the abilities of a parent! It's not about being an 'amazing' parent (do they exist?) god knows we all screw up spectacularly, I know I do , it's about drawing a line. X, Y, Z will not happen and if you try, I'll stop you.
