I mean WTF?

Do they have Winnie The Pooh pyjamas?

It's not RIGHT, is it?

It's also the spacing. CS gives the appearance of more space around the letters which again is useful if you are just learning to read.

BettySuarez · 11/09/2009 23:49

Oh yes, I agree it is a great handwriting font for children

Designer would disagree though - I seem to recall a conversation where the word 'abomination' was used alot!

BuckRogers · 11/09/2009 23:52

But then one man's abomination is another man's passion. Look at Ugg boots? Or Bugaboos?

cherryblossoms · 11/09/2009 23:57

Comic sans + deelie boppers.

Or those viking helmets people used to be fond of on stag nights.

Or sponsored "dress as a schoolchild for work" things.

Passion for comic sans in an adult hints at unresolved issues - and, indeed, WtP pjs. Anyone see the "too many stuffed bears" thread earlier this week?

cherryblossoms · 11/09/2009 23:58

= not +.

I really cannot type this night.

BettySuarez · 12/09/2009 00:01

I think that you have summed it up there Cherryblossoms.

It has a distinct whiff of 'Forever Friends' about it

hellzapoppin · 12/09/2009 00:04

BuckRogers - try chalkboard or futura. Both have the 'fat' a.

BuckRogers · 12/09/2009 00:05

Oh I'm not disagreeing it's a bit naff for grown-ups. I just think it should be recognised that some of us use it for a valid purpose. (BR stamps feet in a child like huff as if to prove the point!)

BuckRogers · 12/09/2009 00:06

Oh I haven't heard of chalkboard, will have a look. Thanks!

hellzapoppin · 12/09/2009 00:11

I had to find out...

the 'fat' arse a- we so love, is known as the Latin Alpha or 'script a'.

So there you go.

ThingOne · 12/09/2009 11:15

I've always had a soft spot for Gill sans.

I used to use verdana and tahoma a lot but I've not been out to work for a bit so they're probably way out of date now. I send out my own letters in calibri or candara, depending on mood.

morningpaper · 12/09/2009 11:17

I am very into Calibiri at the moment

OP posts:
PuzzleRocks · 12/09/2009 11:21

I use Calibri for work. It's easy on the eye when you deal with lots of numbers.

PuzzleRocks · 12/09/2009 11:25

Surely not as bad as curlz mt?

bronze · 12/09/2009 11:29

maybe we should all just type in wingdings. Would be good for codebreaking skills

Morosky · 12/09/2009 11:34

Comic sans is my default option when creating powerpoints for school. Use it on the odd worksheet, will have to ask my pupils now if I am irritating them.

PuzzleRocks · 12/09/2009 11:35

You really want to ask your pupils that?

Tidey · 12/09/2009 11:50

I used to use it on Yahoo Messenger. In turquoise. So nyerrrr.

Morosky · 12/09/2009 12:26

I sleep naked if it is relevant although have been known to doze off in PVC.

PuzzleRocks · 12/09/2009 12:35

That's not what I do in pvc.

mustrunmore · 12/09/2009 12:40

Out PTA minutes etc are now all done in comic sans

SoupDragon · 12/09/2009 12:45

This looks similar to Comic Sans but without the bounciness.

JulesJules · 12/09/2009 12:46

God no, YANBU.

I HATE HATE HATE Comic sans, in any context except (v grudgingly) infant schools. And then they should only use it for the children, not in letters to parents, grrr.

Fonts matter! See here - Outrage among typomaniacs

SoupDragon · 12/09/2009 12:46

Or this one.

I love fonts
