I've just read that the German biscuit maker Bahlsen have launched oblong shaped jaffa cakes because the orange filling can then go edge to edge and be better for dunking .

Nooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!! The idea of dunking a jaffa cake is rank and surely the law of eating jaffa cakes is to nibble the sponge from around the outside, peel off and eat the orangey bit then eat the rest of the sponge.

So go on then AIBU?

I used to love dunking Jammy dodgers in black tea back in my boarding school days. I think the weirdest thing I've ever dunked has to be a Crunchie chocolate bar. Very messy affair but yummy

My view on Jaffa cakes - like Terry's Chocolate oranges and Marmite, they ought to be labelled the devil's work and destroyed!! Bleurgh!

when using the "tim-tam or penguin as straw" method they last longer to maximise your duking pleasure if the corners you bite off are diagonally opposite each other. gooey warm caramel tim-tams in strong black coffee...
