To want to push Katie Price off a cliff

Her "I've been raped" article in OK!

Horrible as it is to be raped, I can't help feeling she has told all - "finally revealed her deepest darkest secret" - just for publicity and the money.

And I don't think stuff like this help rape victims come forward.

Impossible to know if it's true or not, but there will be people for whom she is (strange as it seems!) a role model, and they may report their experiences after reading about her.

I doubt that her interview (although I must admit I haven't read it ) would be the reason someone would choose not to come forward, so I can't see it as harmful in any way.

FabBakerGirlIsBack · 01/09/2009 19:53

I don't read it either, just saw the advert on the telly.

Nancy66 · 01/09/2009 19:55

she's flogged this one a few times before - there's nothing she won't do/say/sell for the right price.

Tortington · 01/09/2009 19:56

she'd bounce back up

FabBakerGirlIsBack · 01/09/2009 19:57

LOL

OP posts:
thesouthsbelle · 01/09/2009 20:00

does she have no shame?

have read closer today the whole being with anyone is better than being alone!

IrishDraught · 01/09/2009 20:00

So, she should never reveal this dark and dirty secret? It's taboo and should never be spoke of again? Her experience, she is entitled to talk about until the cows come home if she likes, unless she condones it or something (which she isn't). It isn't a random comment either, it was in response to something relevant. I do wish she was left alone, I really do.

FabBakerGirlIsBack · 01/09/2009 20:01

I never said that ID. You are reading something that isn't there.

OP posts:
OrmIrian · 01/09/2009 20:02

Well it would be quite easy. You'd only have to breathe on her TBH to make her overbalance

rubyslippers · 01/09/2009 20:03

you wish she was left alone?

i thnk she needs to stop selling her every thought/emotion to the highest bidder

if she really wanted to help raise the profile of this terrible crime she could do it in a million other ways

having said that, it doesn't diminish the fact she has been a victim herself

i just don't think she knows how to deal with anything privately

MANATEEequineOHARA · 01/09/2009 20:05

I did cringe when I saw it on the cover. It just seems a strange thing to publicly announce. Although I haven't read the article and may think differently if I did, that was how I felt when i saw the cover.

Klaw · 01/09/2009 20:06

"I do wish she was left alone, I really do. "

Would be so much easier if she left it alone first. Why does she insist on putting it about in the tabloids?

HecatesTwopenceworth · 01/09/2009 20:13

Probably because she doesn't know how to be anything else than public property, Klaw. She's nothing except this..product. She's probably frightened to lose that. Possibly fears that without it - there is no such person as Katie Price, iyswim.

sorky · 01/09/2009 20:17

Sadly, I think she does other rape victims a true disservice by even bringing this up in this manner
I'm saddened that many will simply just not believe her story given her propensity for sensationalising every aspect of her life.

If you look at her tabloid history and the stories she has sold, she's either bloody unlucky or a blatant liar.
If someone famous is in the media due to illness etc you can almost guarantee she'll give an interview to a sleb mag claiming a similar trauma.

I was indeed surprised when she didn't come forward claiming a terribly head injury after Richard Hammond had his crash.

GColdtimer · 01/09/2009 20:22

"I do wish she was left alone, I really do. "

Well, she doesn't. She courts publicity at every given opportunity, and can't make a single move without involving the media. If she were "left alone" she would be devestated.

That said, I feel sorry for anyone who has
to live with the trauma of being raped. I just get so fed up with all these so called celebraties selling themselves to the highest bidder.

Ponders · 01/09/2009 20:25

she seems to be desperately chasing the sympathy vote having managed so successfully to alienate a huge number of former fans with her recent behaviour, both towards Peter A & in general.

I'm not sure anything she says or does now can get them back

Elemental · 01/09/2009 21:37

She was saying last year, or thereabouts, that she had a fantasy about Mike Tyson raping her. Seems odd that she would say this if she had genuinely been raped in the past.

GreenMonkies · 01/09/2009 21:51

She's a train wreck, someone should put her, and Kerry Katona, in a padded room and leave them there, for their own sake as much as everyone elses. I feel sorry for the children.

UnquietDad · 01/09/2009 21:53

"she'd bounce back up" LOL I was going to say that... Like that woman who played Tosca at the Royal Opera House and bounced back up after the suicide jump, as the trampoline was a bit too springy.

pigletmania · 01/09/2009 21:53

Yes Yes Yes be my guest. I cannot stand that woman at all she really irks me.

UnquietDad · 01/09/2009 21:54

I don't mind people being famous if they can actually DO something, even if it is not to my taste (usually). The problem with Price, Marsh and all the rest of them is that they have no discernible talent. They aren't anything.

bruces · 01/09/2009 21:57

She just wines me up! I agree with alot of previous post she takes away the seriouness of rape and the trauma it causes to the victims and those around the victim.

Nancy66 · 01/09/2009 22:04

"I feel sorry for anyone who?s going through what Jade?s going through, but I can?t believe she is paid for interviews on subjects that people are really traumatised by."

...a quote from Ms Price, criticising Jade Goody.

Pot/kettle.

MirandaBailey · 01/09/2009 22:04

I agree with Sorky, can't help being somewhat at the timing of this particular 'revelation' given the fact that she has sold every single moment of her life so far, combined with the fact that she is really desperate to claw back some sympathy.

She is just a narcissistic personality disorder dressed up as a tranny.

HolyGuacamole · 01/09/2009 22:13

Oh she needs to get a life. Yes, it is terrible for this to have happened to her.

Some part of me thinks that in her case, she probably shouldn't be having a cage fighting boyfriend who has recently been criticised in the press for his role in a film where he is acting out a very aggressive rape scene. Surely she would/should find that abhorrent?
