To want to push Katie Price off a cliff

Her "I've been raped" article in OK!

Horrible as it is to be raped, I can't help feeling she has told all - "finally revealed her deepest darkest secret" - just for publicity and the money.

And I don't think stuff like this help rape victims come forward.

you are so not being unreasonable.

peter andre may not be the sharpest knife in the drawer but i think he has had a lucky escape.

mrsboogie · 02/09/2009 00:21

her kids haven't though .

This latest rape story is her trying to get public sympathy after losing her "public" to Peter A. It's the next step after the miscarriage story that she promised him she wouldn't use.

I wouldn't be surprised to know that she had been raped - something bad had to have happened to leave her the way she is.

I can't wait for the day that the editors of these trashy mags and the people who read them get bored of Kerry Katona's coke habit and terrible husband and Price's train wreck life.

God she is vileness personified. DO IT! (that was a joke btw) Though if you do, expect to read about it on next week's OK cover

ehm no, not pushing her off a cliff because she has been raped but because she is now, suddenly, writing about being raped in order to a) excuse/justify her continued association with her boyfriend, him having starred in a rape porno and b) trying to cynically garner public support for herself after losing it because she treated her husband like shit. Just like she used her miscarriage in that Piers Morgan interview having given an undertaking to her husband that she wouldn't use it.

She isn't talking about her experience of sexual assault, she is using that experience to achieve her own cynical ends. Sorry but that deserves no sympathy.

melmog · 02/09/2009 06:57

Sad as it is, there are a legion of silly teenage girls who think she is still a great role model. You only had to watch her cavorting on the beach in Ibiza to see that.

Therefore, if her story helps one of these girls report something tat has happened to her I suppose it's a good thing.

That doesn't mean I think she's a good role model btw.

thesouthsbelle · 02/09/2009 07:27

agree with boogie.

I personally feel there are some things you shouldn't profit from. I think she's also doing it as a way of justifying standing with her man - whilst it might be an act & a film it's not a very nice film at all he's been in is it.

It's again another way of her coming out & playing the poor me card. same as with the M.C - that wasn't just her child.

thighsmadeofcheddar · 02/09/2009 08:16

She's hateful. I agree, she's done this to try and turn back the tide of public opinion. Too late sunshine.

tiredemma · 02/09/2009 08:23

She is awful, and as UQD states- has no discernible talent (unless getting your tits out is a 'talent')

If she's benr aped I feel sorry for her, awful thing to happen.

but by plastering it over the cover of the mags (didnt read article, kids would have torn up Asda had I stopped!) she makes all of us who share the same history look awful if we choose to share the story, and makes rape almost look like soemthing that someone can prfit from- it's not, it's awful, soul destroying at best and needs to be treated as a heinous crime, not cheap gossip mag fodder

Fluffypoms · 02/09/2009 11:51

Nobody is saying it's ok for her to have been raped, They are just questioning her reasons as to WHY? she is now telling/selling her story..
And yes everyone has the right to talk about their life just most dont get to profit from it.

IUsedToBePeachy · 02/09/2009 11:53

Oh and yes- the reason she talked about it apaprently was because her DP has been accused of being in a movie glorifying rape and she's trying to OK that.

That's not in any way the same as a 'it's OK to talk about it' type article, or 'We have the right not to be attacked and should fight against any man that tries to deny us the right to our own bodies' article

Morloth · 02/09/2009 11:56

She might not have any shame but she does have lots of money. Which I suspect means that she can be lonely and sad in comfort.

I kind of like her. I know it isn't very Mumsnetty to do so. But she is good and gobby and I like that in a woman.

UnquietDad · 02/09/2009 11:56

While we're on the subject of waste-of-space "slebs", since when has Chloe Madeley been a TV personality ?? She is a spoilt little rich daddy's-girl brat who needs to get a job.

YeahBut · 02/09/2009 11:59

I'm sceptical about the timing of this interview. She's been widely pilloried for her post-split behaviour and has suddenly revealed details of this dreadful event.

Chloe Madeley is setting herself up to become a hate figure.

bumpsoon · 02/09/2009 12:07

I dont know katie personally so i cant comment as to whether she needs pushing off anywhere ,should she come round to my house and be horrible to me or mine i might be tempted

beanieb · 02/09/2009 12:09

YABVU and Unkind and would probably be breaking the law if you did.

Have a bit of compassion please. She's not the devil. Yes maybe she's not the brightest button in the box but treating anyone with such meaness isn't an attractive quality let alone treating a rape victim like this.

I don't think Katie Price is dumb, I think she is cynical and very very good at selling her "product".

wheresmypaddle · 02/09/2009 12:32

Squirm- some of her realty TV has had me transfixed!! (more embarassed squirming). It just showed how un-perfect the lives of 'rich and famous' can be. Anyone who has been a victim of this type of attack surely deserves our sympathy.

However, I found the miscarriage story suspect- firstly she seemed to use it as a weapon aginst Peter (his child too), and secondly her constant references to terrible bleeding did not ring true to someone running a marathon in the tightest leggings ever.
