To wonder what the point of embossed baby wipes are?

I mean, seriously, what's the point of embossing something whose main function is going to be wiping up poo?

Really?

M&B I am trying very hard not to be upset by your post but I am. It's the latest in a long line of bulshit from people I thought of as friends. But if you are who I think you are then you know that. Which makes your vitriol even more upsetting.

One of the more expensive types of Andrex paper has puppies embossed on it. Makes me feel bad when I use it, as if I am actually wiping my bum with real puppies

chegirl · 30/08/2009 20:45

The flannels are a good idea, just not in my house. Things have a habit of going missing down the side of chairs and under sofas eww. Also OH has no sense of smell (thanks to MS) so I could come home after a work day to be met with the smell of several poo covered flannels - nice.

AND even if I showed him, wrote it down and posted a video on Youtube he would still manage to get the face ones and clean ones mixed up with the bum and dirty ones.

Bless im.

TAFKAtheUrbanDryad · 30/08/2009 20:55

ChilliMoose - that would be soft. But wriggly.

Different colours, chegirl?

Ignore, TAFKA.

tinkywinkysgirl · 30/08/2009 21:13

and why have pampers easy ups lost the useful sticky thing since they got BobThe Builder?

TheChilliMooseisOmnipotent · 31/08/2009 00:04

It would be warm though Maybe kittens would be better as they could clean themselves afterwards.
(I'm only joking, nobody call the RSPCA, I'm actually an animal lover)

To make a product that they can get more money for? I've got as far as buying some washable wipes though I think sticking with cheap flannels or cutting up suitable fabric is probably a really good idea. I do understand what chegirl's saying though. Am trying to get organised to use more washable nappies, nearly 7 months in to my second baby. Have some nappies from Freecycle, a couple of new ones and a real nappies for London voucher but am still trying to understand how to do the folds.

TAFKAtheUrbanDryad · 31/08/2009 11:34

elkiedee - buy some prefolds. Much easier than doing the squares IMO.

elkiedee-bumgenius nappies are ace!

LovelyTinOfSpam · 31/08/2009 22:25

Ooh real puppies...

Sounds the ultimate in luxury to me

What do you do with them after wiping though? The water people would definitely say they were non flushable - but if you put them down on the ground they will scamper off and roll on the carpet...

TheChilliMooseisOmnipotent · 01/09/2009 10:01

I've re-jigged the idea to kittens. As long as you are careful about the claws, it's ok, and they clean themselves.

LovelyTinOfSpam · 01/09/2009 10:04

Chincillas (sp) have very very soft fur...

Trikken · 01/09/2009 10:21

I cant get my head round the whole flannel idea, surely you'd have to use loads of them? would like to be able to not use wipes tho.

colditz · 01/09/2009 10:24

It's to scrape the poo off.

TheChilliMooseisOmnipotent · 01/09/2009 10:36

Rabbits might be good, too, although mine gave me a nasty nip at the weekend (I wasn't using it to wipe my bum, or anyone else's, at the time).

Would a pencil work?

TheChilliMooseisOmnipotent · 01/09/2009 13:32

I only ask because the back to school stuff is half price in Sainsburys at the mo.

TAFKAtheUrbanDryad · 01/09/2009 15:10

Maybe if it had an eraser on the end?

LovelyTinOfSpam · 01/09/2009 15:11

Pencil is advanced alternative bum wiping technique.

Start with a chincilla and work your way up is my advice.

LovelyTinOfSpam · 01/09/2009 15:12

"work your way up" [vom]

TheChilliMooseisyourfriend · 01/09/2009 15:34

How many times do you have to wiped your bum before you can be considered an advanced bum wiper?

Morloth · 01/09/2009 15:37

I like the Huggies ones with the little teddy bears, they have excellent poo catching capabilities.

Am too lazy to add to the washing pile.
