to wonder whether the new family that live next door work?

A new family, Asian (but that's by the by), have moved in next door. I don't see the man or woman going out to work at all. We live in an area that's up and coming with young, aspirant, professional families. AIBU to think they might be lowering the tone?

PS I like curry.
PPS Isn't it great about the Daily Mail tie in?

TheArmadillo · 19/08/2009 19:37

shit stirring by any chance

plantsitter · 19/08/2009 19:39

They are probably teachers.

screamingabdab · 19/08/2009 19:39

Schubert - you are right to be concerned. It is possible that they may end up affecting house prices and causing swine flu.

I love the Daily Mail

HaggisNeepsnTatties · 19/08/2009 19:39

Oh, how hilarious!!

Is there Princess Diana in this thread somewhere.

There must be as I heard the daily mail being mentioned. Is she living next door as well?

differentDM · 19/08/2009 19:41

to echo what the armadillo said

GypsyMoth · 19/08/2009 19:43

are they on benefits too i wonder??!!

Schubert · 19/08/2009 19:44

Yes, I'm worried they might be teachers.

I've called a emergency residents' meeting not only to discuss the lowering of house prices and swine flu but also untidy front gardens and the babysitting circle. They've lived there 10 days and have yet to cut their grass, back or front.

You obviously don't work if you've got time to poke about in other peoples business.
Mind your own business and get a life.

5inthebed · 19/08/2009 19:45

Maybe they were too busy making curry

Schubert · 19/08/2009 19:45

Do you think they might be on, benefits?

OP posts:
Schubert · 19/08/2009 19:46

Forehead - Well of course I don't work! I read the DM.

skybright · 19/08/2009 19:46

Perhaps they leave very early and get back very late, lots of very hard working people out there. Far to busy paying taxes to cut the grass even.

dailymailIsPerfectAsaPoopScoop · 19/08/2009 19:47

new to MN? Only 2 threads and what does the asian bithave to do with anything?

Schubert · 19/08/2009 19:47

Of course I don't work, I am a Femail. And proud of it.

TheCrackFox · 19/08/2009 19:48

You have not told us how much yours or their house is worth so it is difficult to form an opinion either way.

Schubert · 19/08/2009 19:49

DAilyMailisasPerfect - I'm not new to Mumsnet at all.

Firawla · 19/08/2009 19:56

work from home maybe?

screamingabdab · 19/08/2009 19:57

Possibly they are growing a strong form of maryjoanna ? Are the lights on all the time ?

Schubert · 19/08/2009 20:00

I think they are more the type who are addicted to prescription drugs than Maryjoanna tbh. And the children look unkempt. I know it's a bit jumping the gun but I suspect the father is a paedophile. It's just a hunch.
