to book tickets for a gig on my due date?

Have been offered the chance of Muse tickets for a tiny gig on my EDD, it would be an amazing evening. The gig would be an hours drive away. DH and I LOVE Muse.

Our other DCs would be with respective exes, so no babysitting issues. I am fairly certain that we would be able to re-sell the tickets if the baby turns up early.

So AIBU/mad?

Sounds like a good way to ensure that the baby will turn up on time or early

YANBU, Mine were 10 and 13 days overdue. DH was booked on a 4 day (far away) training course over my due date and we just shrugged it off, turned out OK in the end As long as you think you'll be fit enough, I had SPD second time and had to use crutches to walk across the corridor to the loo in the end!

TA-exactly, it's a win/win situation

I made the mistake of booking a hair appointment on my due date.
The stylist looked in horror at me as I squeezed myself into the chair. I told her not to panic - after all she had hot water and towels. But panic she did and the pictures of me and DS1 show a gorgeous boy born to a woman whos hair looks a lot like the dog chewed it off.

I didn't have DS1 until four days after my due date. If she had more confidence I could have been a beautiful new mum

But I think YAB a bit U. I understand the lure of Muse but I would not want to be there if I started.

what a nightmare re the haircut, it's amazing that people get so nervous around a heavily pg woman, like we will spontaneously combust or something

I went to a gig on my due date - Yo La Tengo - their music has loads of feedback and I had to go out at one point, it was v.v.v loud, and I actually felt DS1 (in utero baby at the time) shudder. My bump went up in a big weird triangle too. So YANBU to go but stand well away from the speakers is my advice.

I went to festivals and gigs and listened to loads of loud music in both my pg's (I was in denial I think) and my dc's both settle right down and go into trance like mode now when they hear loud music. Weird.

YANBU - why not? Mind you I booked to see Keane a few days before my due date and even researched hospitals in the area just in case. But I bottled it and put the tickets on ebay a few days before . And DS came on his due date.

I just can't imagine wanting to be doing all that standing up and loud music when heavily pregnant. But you're probably younger, slimmer and stronger than me. If you were a first timer, I'd say don't be nuts, but you've been there before and know what you're up to. So have fun

Being a MASSIVE Muse fan myself, I would say YANBU, however if you're talking about their gig which was confirmed yesterday, they're talking about 5,000 people on the tiniest patch of grass you could imagine.

I'm definitely going to try and get some tickets and am very excited at the prospect of seeing them again, however the one thing that I will not be looking forward to is being squeezed into such a small space with 4,999 other people and can imagine in being 10 times worse were I 9 months pregnant too.

Good idea to research hospitals near the gig venue! I'd be more worried about being an hour from home than about being at a gig!

DH sat his driving test on my due date. He failed and DD showed up a week late. We got a

My DS2 was born 7 days early after DS1 was 8 days late. There is no predicting the little monsters but if you're confident you can re-sell if you should drop early then whats the harm?

Was just remembering today that on my due date with DD2 I took the older two children on an NCT junket in a bus to a farm an hour's drive away. So confident was I that she was not coming that day that I didn't even bother to take my notes. Howzat for blase? In the event she was 13 days overdue so I was right.

How many weeks pg are you now? It sounds like the kind of thing you might say at 16 weeks when you feel mighty fine....then by 34 weeks you can't face a walk to the post box, never mind a gig on your due date. Or maybe that is just me.

GBOF, that is the one, in 2 weeks time? We are planning a home birth and there is no way I will go through the whole of my labour in an hour and a half.

37wks now, so I know how tired I will be (roughly)

Am only 5 miles from Teignmouth so am planning to go to the Carlton first thing Friday when the tickets go on sale. I am genuinely worried though as I really don't see how they'll ever fit 5,000 people on the Den.

I had my heart set on The Big Fat Quiz of the Year, 8pm on my EDD. Guess where i was? LOL.
Also i bought tickets for the Sex Pistols TWO MONTHS before my EDD, and my dad wouldn't let me go. So i missed that too.

Soo i think you shouldn't.. but not because i'm jealous. Honestly.
