Robert Pattinson?!!! I am shocked by own reaction...am normally a reasonable 38 year old. Is this a mid-life crisis situation?

Omg there's actually a Dr Who shop! Now you've created a monster... Do you think my husband would mind terribly me ordering a life size David Tennant? And who in their right minds would want to have a model of that creepy weeping angel thing?

I was a bit at the choice of RP in Harry Potter, because I had the impression that the character he was going to play was supposed to be every school girl's dream sort of thing, and I thought he just looked completely ordinary. Am a bit baffled that he suddenly has become this great sex symbol. Haven't seen or read Twilight, though, that may be it. People I know that have read the books say they're crap, so I've just let it be. I am now scared that reading the books/watching the film will reduce me to a 13-year old simpering mess.

Didn't know who Robert Pattinson was so I Googled him. Not fussed. Now, if you'd said Jake Gyllenhaal, oh my word....that man is too beautiful to be human. And he came across as a Very Nice Young Man when he was on Jonathan Ross, so that completed the utter perfectness of his being.

raffy- yes, that's what I thought at first. You have to see him in the film (Twilight) and then you'll get it! [sad old perv]

Scootini- thanks, but it turns out that the waiting list was down to 4(!) so I am on it. Unless I buy it before my time comes

Loving the bit about resenting your dh for not being him! I've been resenting my dh in general the last few days but will add "not Edward Cullen" to the list!

I have a big schoolgirl crush on him too. I'm 31.

I haven't properly fancied a famous person since I was about 19!

He's the right combination of posh but not ott, young but not obscene, tousled, British, a bit dirty but also a bit innocent looking.

I haven't told anyone in rl.

My secret shame.

I'll admit to lusting over Rob/Edward in Twilight HOWEVER I bet after New Moon comes out you will all be lusting after Jacob!

I haven't even seen Twilight.

My RP crush started innocently enough with Harry Potter and that bit where he mutters to Harry "go to the prefect's bathroom" - or something, whilst looking ever so slightly pervy.

A tiny piece of my heart/loin has been his ever since.

Ozziegirly cancel ALL your plans today and rent/buy Twilight. I guarantee you will watch it at least 10 times.

Oh dear.

Ok, I will. I'll try to innocently talk DH into it.

Or maybe I'll wait until he's next out for the eve and watch it with my finger on the pause and rewind button...

I recommend the first cafeteria scene, the scene where he has his shades on arriving at school and I admit I melt when he says Hi to Bella in the Biology class!

In fact there are too many 'phwoar' bits to mentions (and this is coming from a member of Team Jacob who is considering becoming Team Switzerland cos I would ravish Edward & Jacob in a second!)

No. YANBU. I love him.

Loved the character of Edward in the books too though. Felt slightly embarrassed reading them in public though must admit!!

am very glad I am not the only one. Yes before you make a decision on how delicious he is you have to see twilight...as I didn't care about him one bit before, and now I think I might sell the house to spend one night with him...

Jake Gyllenhaal too though, I fancied him in Donnie Darko...when he was only about 14. Yes he is lovely, more marriage material though. there is something a bit 'ever so slightly pervy' about RP...

phoawwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwr...right will try to control myself today. Not buy any teen mags, cardboard cut outs, or watch twilight again. (going to check if it's on its way out to me - again - on lovefilm...)

I can't believe how often I think about him - If I'm not reading the books over and over I am watching youtube clips of him and regularly checking the newmoonmovie.org website for any updates, I am then scanning every magazine just in case he is in them and of course I have to listen to the soundtrack every day with him singing Let me Sign ........ and listening to the Bella re-mix with his voice saying "are you afraid" aaaaaarrrrghhhghgh - I'm really lucky as my daughter really likes him so of course I have had to order every twilight picture for her bedroom of course and then as I go in to say goodnight I can also glance as Edward although I'm not thinking of goodnight .

Not RP - too young for me.

Last night I watched Rupert Everett doing the Byron thing...And I know IABVVVU - but he is gorgeous. Gay I know....but very nice to look at. I know many won't agree. Even my gay colleague thinks I am mad....but I'd rather him than Mr Twilight.

mum2boys, I watched Rupert Everett last night as well. He defo strikes the right note for me but just as well he is gay. Puts a suitable distance which is how I like it.

Robert Pattinson is just too young. Have you seen him without a shirt? Too pale and just a shade flabby.

Lovely Jake G is the only film star that I get a bit gaga about. Am 41, so much too oold, but I could look at him all day...there are a few that I think are good looking but I don't know what it is with him, he's just right in every way (sigh)

Before that it was Harrison ford in his (and my) younger days and strangely (most of you will think) Alan Rickman.

Not, I hasten to add, in his Professor Snape guise. It started when he was the sheriff In Robin Hood, Prince of Thieves. He was so NASTY, and had such a lovely voice, and I think the boots had something to do with it....

Too young. I'm about your age and I just want to make sure he's had a good meal and done his homework

Raffy - completely with you on Alan Rickman. He was a friend of a friend but I never got to meet him, despite some fairly strenuous efforts on my part

Rupert Everett looked pretty good with his shirt off, I loved him when I was too young to know he was gay, he is very handsome, but a bit too perfect. I like RP's slightly funny mouth.

blueshoes where have you seen RP without a shirt on? elaborate.
