Why on earth would anyone spend money on this stuff? And AIBU to think those who do are incredibly strange people?

Or am I just a snob?

LynetteScavo · 07/07/2009 21:59

SCREAM!

FlappyTheBat · 07/07/2009 21:59

yes, apparently you don't buy them, but you can "adopt" them for several hundred dollars!

Yurtgirl · 07/07/2009 22:03

Check out the fairy ears on lynettes link

Reborns I have seen and disliked many times
Fairy newborns though........ a new experience for me!

LynetteScavo · 07/07/2009 22:03

She is obviously a very talented artist, but I won't be adopting one, thankyou.

FlappyTheBat · 07/07/2009 22:17

If you open this link and scroll down, there is someone who will make a reborn doll using your own baby pics.
There is an example and the likeness is scary!

Cataline · 07/07/2009 22:22

absolutely pmsl!

I know people who buy all this dreadful tat and really do take it very, very seriously.

.....crazy loons!

AnnieLobeseder · 07/07/2009 22:34

Of course, I can see the benefits of those dolls over real babies..... they sleep through the night for a start!

But OMG I've been PMSL at the tat on that site! What blows my mind is there are enough people out there in the world so completely lacking in taste that there's enough demand for several websites that peddle the shite!

dmo · 07/07/2009 22:35

AnnieLobeseder · 07/07/2009 22:35

I have had to run out of the office to the loo to hide with tears running down my face. My colleagues definitely think I have lost the plot

Frasersmum123 · 09/07/2009 14:56

Those babies are so scary!

bleh · 09/07/2009 14:58

This thread is awesome (as good as the Crap Tips thread).

I'm still in shock over the shy kids. Why? Why would you want that? "They are such an unusual gift idea that your recipient will be so surprised and grateful for a stunning gift." Of course the recipient would be surprised: you're giving them a fake life-size child. To decorate their living room.

Thunderduck · 09/07/2009 15:00

I've seen better gifts at hook a duck stalls than there are to be found on the Bradford Exchange website.

bleh · 09/07/2009 15:05

Did you though? Have you considered theMarilyn Monroe Collectable Wall Decor, for the bargain price of £60. It has hand set faux diamonds. Think about it ...

jooseyfruit · 09/07/2009 15:10

good god.
those shy kids remind me of the end of blair witch project.

Thunderduck · 09/07/2009 15:11

Hand set faux diamonds! Hold me back.

Frasersmum123 · 09/07/2009 15:13

I will be buying this for my Mum for Mothers day

lovely

muggglewump · 09/07/2009 15:13

I particularly like this one
See, your garden can have one too!

Frasersmum123 · 09/07/2009 15:14

And my dad will be getting this pile of shite for Christmas!

honestly

Frasersmum123 · 09/07/2009 15:17

DBIL collects these and they make my eyes hurt when we visit awful

weegiemum · 09/07/2009 15:28

Thankyou!

I have ghastly cold and cough, and this thread made me laugh so much that I had a huge coughing fit and then I puked.

And a little bit of wee came out.

As you were.
