Why on earth would anyone spend money on this stuff? And AIBU to think those who do are incredibly strange people?

Or am I just a snob?

how about for the biker in you????

Antdamm · 10/07/2009 23:14

lol wtf?? a dragon riding a motorcycle,

For those who want to make the transition from collecting dragon figurines to collecting motorcycle figurines - we've made it so easy

Thunderduck · 10/07/2009 23:16

This thread is hazardous to one's health. I just hit my head on the steel bedframe while laughing hysterically at the dragon biker.

Antdamm · 10/07/2009 23:17

snow globe

it looks like they took a snowglobe, stuck it onto a mount and then rolled it in a pile of broken christmas baubles.

Absolutely stunning

Antdamm · 10/07/2009 23:19

thunderduck - i told you that the tasteless tat lovingly crafted items needed to come with a health warning

ladymariner · 10/07/2009 23:24

"customers who ordered the biker dragon also ordered

you can obviously see the connection!!!

The bumff sayds its an 19th century marble head, but to me the moustache says 1980's

Thunderduck · 10/07/2009 23:28

Does that explain why my back has gone too?

Thunderduck · 10/07/2009 23:28

Is that Tom Selleck?

Antdamm · 10/07/2009 23:30

lol it could be. 19th century indeed - I think someone has been telling porkies

Thunderduck · 10/07/2009 23:33

WTF seems appropriate

Antdamm · 10/07/2009 23:34

DP is threatening to buy me one of these lovely pieces as a birthday present (which is technically in 27mins)

I've had to pass - I couldnt make my mind up between the zebra teapot and the leopard peanut bowl

ladymariner · 10/07/2009 23:36

how lovely is this www.gainsboroughgiftware.com/display_image.php?size=large&img=3765_large.jpg

Thunderduck · 10/07/2009 23:36

I can see why you're struggling to make a decision, both are such unique and delightful pieces.
I think the zebra teapot has slightly more charm though.

ladymariner · 10/07/2009 23:37

ladymariner · 10/07/2009 23:39

I so can't read this whole thread, just the first and last pages but wanted to add that, along with a group of friends and colleagues who I worked with, I used to have a ball trying to find the most elaborate, with a Certificate of Authenticity (a "must), pref 22 carat gold somewhere, lovingly handcrafted piece of useless shite imaginable. It was like playing Bradford Exchange bingo!

I had fun with DH last week - I carefully read out the description for this gem - we sat and thought about what kind of person must write the advertising drivel that goes with, and does their soul writhe while they're doing it!

Thunderduck · 10/07/2009 23:53

I favour the chameleon jug.
