You were doing 90? .....Perhaps it was the police.

VinegarTits · 19/06/2009 11:17

I did an advanced speeding course once and was told that the best way to deal with tail gaters is to slow down (not brake sharply) by slowing down they have no choice but to slow down too

I was actually overtaking and there was no room for me to pull back into the middle lane until further on down the motorway, not making excuses for the speed i was doing, but this tosser caused me to speed up by the speed he was doing (must have been over 100)so i could try and slot back into the middle lane

Paisley what you one about? the police dont tail gate you for speeding, they pull you over and fine you

Fair enough VT. Then you need this

GentlyDidIt · 19/06/2009 11:22

A character from David Lynch's "Lost Highway" has a rather violent way of dealing with tailgaters

here

PigeonPie · 19/06/2009 11:24

Weegle - I too, always seem to have a really dirty windscreen when someone is driving too close

VinegarTits · 19/06/2009 11:44

PR

As long as people don't sit in the outside lane cruising along completely oblivious of vehicles approaching them.

So many tossers do that.

BitOfFun · 19/06/2009 11:54

An advanced speeding course? Really?

VinegarTits · 19/06/2009 11:55

i meant driving

i got sent on it for speeding

pah

Was it not possible for you to move over? I do 90mph in the left-hand lane if the motorway is quiet. Sitting in the right-hand lane when there's space to the left is bad driving.

BitOfFun · 19/06/2009 12:00

I think that's been covered, SomeGuy.

VinegarTits · 19/06/2009 12:01

Read the thread someguy, i already said there wasnt room for me to move back into the middle lane

I remember racing a Porsche once - now, that was fun. Even more fun when he gave up and pulled over out of respect.

toddlerama · 19/06/2009 12:09

I really really want one of those LED signs now. Just to say "I'm not a good driver. Give me room".

SomeGuy · 19/06/2009 12:11

Oops. Anyway it's a bad idea to do more than 90mph, you start getting into banning territory. Anything up to 90mph is just going to be points. They could very well be an unmarked police car on their way somewhere.

hf128219 · 19/06/2009 12:14

I regularly do 140+ mph. No accidents/points.

VinegarTits · 19/06/2009 12:15
Hmm
OP posts:
VinegarTits · 19/06/2009 12:16

speeding is not big and its not clever (says she who has 6 points for speeding)

what do you drive hf? a tornado?

OP posts:
SomeGuy · 19/06/2009 12:17

What road do you do 140mph on? And in what car?

I have driven faster than 90mph in the past, but I looked at the sentencing guidelines and I don't want to be going to prison, which is what you'd be looking at for 140mph, or getting banned, which is what you'd definitely be looking at for 100mph+.

I can get where I'm going at 90mph very satisfactorily.

PuppyMonkey · 19/06/2009 12:18

DP had one of the LED signs for a while there, but it was always breaking or not working properly or something and he got more angry with that than he did with the blinking bad drivers.

hf128219 · 19/06/2009 12:19

I agree speeding is not big or clever. No I don't have a tornado. It's just a sports car.

VinegarTits · 19/06/2009 12:19

My car doesnt go faster than 90, hence the reason the twunt behind me get impatient and tried to ram me outta the way

OP posts:
SomeGuy · 19/06/2009 12:24

I think my current car does about 146mph. I wouldn't dream of taking it that fast though. I did have my tyres blow out on my previous car (which only had about 70 bhp) on the way to the airport at over 100mph (bloody early morning flights). That did cost several hundred pounds in new plane tickets, etc. No harm done thankfully.

I buy better tyres these days too. And make sure my tracking is in order.

Upwind · 19/06/2009 12:26

Happened me on an inner city road yesterday, I was driving at 30 and a council truck started tailgating, driving about an inch from my bumper.

I slowed down but soon reached my destination and spotted a parking space. Tosser couldn't see me indicate, so had no idea why I gradually slowed to a stop just after the space to reverse back in. He stayed stopped behind me for about five minutes making angry gestures until eventually he got the message and reversed and passed me.

I wasn't sure whether to be scared or pleased to have wound the idiot up so much.
