Yes I know... another BNP issue BUT
I must admit I was just a little concerned on who many people have NO clue about all the BNP's views.
Firstly I had to argue the point of voting (They're all as bad as each other!) How else are they going to be told what we will and will not accept if we don't use our powers?
But I was more concerned on how many people were considering voting BNP on the whole 'British Jobs for British workers' views etc without realising the whole truth about the Holocaust denying, subserviant women, homophobic, useless C*nts they are!!

thing is, none of the parties ever deliver on their manifestoes, do they, so why do people believe the BNP can actually deliver??

Seems pretty scary to me.

Our neighbour has a BNP poster up. DH (black African, not even a citizen yet) has chatted to this guy several times in the street and always got on well with him. On Monday dh went outside and neighbour said "alright mate?" so dh went over and said "No, not really, I'm a bit upset by that poster you've got in your window" Neighbour explained how "I'm not racist but..." loads of his mates were out of work and it was down to foreigners taking their jobs. DH then pointed out that he was one of these foreigners to which the neighbour said "Oh it doesn't mean people like you"

TBH I don't know it all, only what I have read online when trying to find some information to make an informed vote in the EU elections but the basic jist was the right to shoot illegal immigrants and criminals, a ban on foreign imports, making inter-racial maariages illegal, anyone with TB or AIDS to be deported(WTF?) Martial status of children parents when applying for schools to identify potential difficultes and many others I'm sure.

Tamarto-I think you got it just right... She'd heard the main lines/issues and thought 'They can't be as bad as everyone makes out'.

YANBU I just have come in from the garden having explained for ten minutes to my sikh neighbour who they are and why she should get her butt down to vote.

Quite pleased she hasnt come across them but still abit at her total ignorance as to who they are. (She has never even heard of them)

Ok well can I just start by saying that I am definitely NOT a BNP supporter. I have just looked through their white paper and I can't see anything mysogenistic about it ? .It says shared residency 50:50 should be encouraged ,if the couple can't agree on that then the no-fault parent WHICHEVER THAT MAY BE (so long as their is no history of DV or chikld abuse) would get custody.
If people want to make sure the BNP don't get in , we have to tackle them on un acceptable issues not twist reasonable policies into something hysterical.That just plays into their hands.

she thought that labour (or whoever really) liked to waste money on wars that weren't related to britain and she thought that the BNP wouldn't spend money on this sort of thing, instead they would pump it into the NHS or education or something worthwhile. so i should think not all bnp voters are crazy racists, which makes the party all the more dangerous.

Plenty of people don't agree that 50 / 50 residency is in the best interests of the child. A child needs a home, a base, stability.

As is says on the thread, who decides what an adulterous union is? Chap is violent, woman gets rid, meets nice man but can't start a new relationship until divorce as she'll lose her children.

Unmarried couples seen as inferior.

It all seems quite, "Republic of Gilead" to me.

IMO there is no reason for anyone in the UK today to "find" themselves pregnant and be compelled to have the baby. If people are going to have a baby they should have the wherewithal to look after it.

And conversely many people agree that fathers are discriminated against by the courts in family proceedings.

Under current rules people find themselves having to compromise on relationships etc in order to maintain benefits or maintenance payments etc.

Well on that basis you must find all religions scary. Many many people believe that the best place to bring up children is in a stable married relationship.

I find it amazing that a few of my dad's acquaintances (there not really friends just people he has done work for) seem to quite like the BNP.

My dad is Spanish, lives in Spain and these acquaintances are all English expats.

They clearly don't see the irony. My dad just thinks they are twats, but the work they send his way pays the bills. Thank God I rarely see these people.

Which part? I am not saying in anyway I agree with the BNP but when people just say all their policies are terrifying it is simply lazy. They have many many abhorrent policies but they also are careful to include more "reasonable" policies to lure people in. That is why it is important to dismantle their policies logically rather than just say they are scary and wrong. I was imply showing how the policies that ninky describes simply as scary can quite easily be justified.
