to have voted for the BNP today

and feel that I should keep it a secret (have name changed obviously) for fear of being lynched!!

It is a perfectly legal party that has been totally demonised in the media. I was even worried that I may be able to be traced from my ballot paper but I took the risk and voted for them because all the other parties are the bloody same and none of them have the guts to sort this country out. Suppose I'll never get to heaven now .

SOmething my fave teacher told us years ago remains with me: people who support minority loon parties are far more motivated to get off their arses and vote because they know that every vote counts. So I really do hope that everyone slagging off the BNP went and voted for someone - anyone else...

cheesesarnie · 06/06/2009 00:07

i was shocked to see a huge bnp poster in window round the corner from us.we live in small place and am shocked that i might actually know a racist twat who feels so strongly about being a racist twat that they will stick a huge thing in there window.

londonone · 06/06/2009 00:13

stayfrosty - I don't want to be rude but how fucking dare you. Read the thread if you can, I am clearly not ivhadenuf

Stretch · 06/06/2009 00:20

I suppose SGB. A poster on that link that was posted earlier said that good turn-outs are bad for parties like bnp. Is that because most people are decent and wouldn't vote for them toss-pots in a million years?

Ooops londonone, easy mistake for stayfrosty to make. I had to double check what you had written as it seemed you were that 'ivhadenuff' thing!

londonone · 06/06/2009 00:22

Stretch - not really an easy mistake to make if you read the thread!

verylittlecarrot · 06/06/2009 00:24

Does it irk you to be disbelieved, londonone? You sound bothered by it.
Whether others believe you to be ivehadenuff should be irrelevant to you, surely? Was it not you who posted;

"I don't believe you. Why you care about that I don't know."

Perhaps you might re-evaluate how barnsleybelle might have felt in response to your comments?

Stretch · 06/06/2009 00:29

But with 632 (now 633) posts, it's quite easy to miss!

londonone · 06/06/2009 00:29

No what irked me was being accused by someone who clearly hasn't read the thread. If someone has read the thread and really believes that I am ivhadenuf then more fool them as it is fairly evident that we are arguing completely opposite points of view!

londonone · 06/06/2009 00:30

Anyway I am off to sleep now!

Stretch: yes, basically. The BNP are not popular, most people do think they are a bunch of moronic tosspots. But unfortunately a lot of people think that it's Ok, because other people will go and vote for other parties, and the BNP won't get in, wherease BNP supporters (as with every minority nutjob or even well-meaning small party) are aware that every vote counts, and some of the slightly smarter ones are well aware that other people's apathy works in their favour.

Bucharest · 06/06/2009 08:30

Ivhadenuff- re your statement of 20.20 yesterday about civil servants being able to be members of any political party they wish.
Not true actually: civil service handbook (which I'm sure as a civil servant yourself you will have read when you signed the OSA in front of your line manager) states clearly:
"Civil servants must not be members of extreme left or right wing political parties -"
So you might want to be a bit quiet on gobbing off quite so loudly about your affiliations in public.

I believe the "indigenous Britons" of whom you speak are a couple of thousand peoplein Wales and half a dozen families in the south-east Midlands.

You say you love Britain. So do I. Because of its tolerance, its multi-cultural identity, its general decency and quiet diginity, its open-door policy to all those in need and its courage in standing up to people like you and yours.

This thread has sickened me and filled me joy in equal measure. Guess which bit you fall into?

Chegirl- very sorry for your loss. xx

georgimama · 06/06/2009 09:15

The BNP website is truly hilarious - they are actually recruiting paid staff, there is an application form and everything! There is an important caveat "if you are not a British or EU citizen you may require a work permit."

Yeah, I can really see the BNP sponsoring the application for a work permit.

I wish someone "non indigenous" would apply for a job and sue the fuck out of them for racial discrimination.

Peachy · 06/06/2009 09:28

Che , I am so sorry

Georgi- my first thought was that I hopes omeone who wasn't white would apply as that of course is where the law steps in with racial discrimination, however then it occurreed to me how very frightening that would actually be. I think it's horrid, damning and frankly embarassing that people in this country have a reason to be scared of applying for jobs or even answering the door to aprticular candidates if they don't 'look right'. Being told you don't belong, or made to feelscared is every bit as frightening ime as actual threats.

however the Greens gained 6 seats, the BNP 2. In a time of protest votes wh4en many have been deliberastely looking away from the main parties and arescared of their livelihoos (IE a particularly extreme election) that's actually relatively positive and something I will hold onto- that even when the people are desperate, the BNP can still nly amount to 2 seats.

georgimama · 06/06/2009 09:32

I still find them scary and I am white. DS would be their idea of a wet dream - blond and blue eyed.

It's not much of a stretch to go from excluding people who aren't white, to excluding people who are disabled, to excluding people who are gay, to excluding people who are Jewish, to excluding people who are "intellectuals" etc etc

This poem says it all:

"In Germany, they came first for the Communists, And I didn?t speak up because I wasn?t a Communist;

And then they came for the trade unionists, And I didn?t speak up because I wasn?t a trade unionist;

And then they came for the Jews, And I didn?t speak up because I wasn?t a Jew;

And then... they came for me... And by that time there was no one left to speak up."

brightongirldownunder · 06/06/2009 11:03

I'vehadenough (well thought i'd spell it properly) you must feel so proud to be supporting bigotry and rape - good on you, mate.

Just trying to imagine what would happen if they tried to repatriate immigrants over here in Australia - thats everyone since the first settlers. But you see thats history mate and we also can't turn back the clock - the British can't apologise enough for the pain we've caused worldwide. I can see what its done here with the Aboriginal people and I feel totally ashamed. We can only show as a nation how we've grown to become such an amazing melting pot.

Remember, as its been mentioned before on here - Tyndall, the creator of the BNP said "Mein Kampf is my bible". Enough said....

poshsinglemum · 06/06/2009 11:09

er- yes. UABVU and racist

poshsinglemum · 06/06/2009 11:18

Lots of people will vote BNP beacause they are scared of immigration and fear the loss of ''Britishness''. What the hell is Britishness anyway? We are who we are due to the British empire and numerous colonies abroad we founded.
Without immigration my dd would not be here!
We live in global society now where cultures are mixing at an unprecidented rate.
I do think that immigration should not be limitless as it is today and if people do come here they should make an effort to fit in and learn the language.
That is more than I can say for most Brits who take fish and chips culture abroad to the costa del whatever and refuse to integrate.

I think that in order to stall excessive immigration capitalism has to be kept in check. (Very unlikely as most people and goverments are obsessed with money.)
If more businesses were homegrown then we would rely less on foriegn labour and less people would be tempted to come to rip off Britain.
But personally- I love the melting pot that is modern Britain with all it's fault.
No man is an island and all that.

poshsinglemum · 06/06/2009 11:20

Also- Most people forget the absolute wrong that we inflicted on the world with our empire. I am not proud of it nor am I patriotic in the slightest. And that has nothing to do with the failings of the current goverment.

ruddynorah · 06/06/2009 11:27

immigration isn't limitless sometimes i think people actually think we have no immigration law in the UK. i remember a 'friend' who was emigrating to canada and often said she was pissed off at the number of hoops she had to jump through to get her visa while in the UK we just let anyone in. it's not the case. it may feel like it though if you read the tabloids.

poshsinglemum · 06/06/2009 11:31

DD's dad is an immigrant and I fear for her if the BNP had any influence at all.

poshsinglemum · 06/06/2009 11:34

My dad thinks that immigration is limitless and he dosn't read tabloids. He must be getting that idea from other forms of propaganda influences.

wook · 06/06/2009 11:38

Just seen this thread and am in disbelief that anyone could vote BNP- not only unreasonable, racist and disgusting, but just so totally thick as well. No wonder you're ashamed!Just how stupid can a person be.

knockedgymnast · 06/06/2009 11:47

There's a difference between selling out your ideas and selling your ideas. And the British National Party isn't about selling out it's ideas, which are your ideas, but we are determined now to sell them. And that means basically to use these salable words.
As I say, 'freedom', 'security', 'identity', 'democracy', nobody can criticise them, nobody can come at you and attack you on those ideas: they are salable. Perhaps one day, once by being rather more subtle, we got ourselves into a position where we control the British broadcasting media, then perhaps one day the British people might change their minds and say, 'Yes, every last one must go'. Perhaps they will one day, but if you offer that as your soul mate to start with, you're going to get absolutely nowhere. So, INSTEAD OF TALKING ABOUT RACIAL PURITY WE TALK ABOUT IDENTITY." - Nick Griffin addressing the Ku Klux Klan

My original post was deleted, nice so now I can't even express how I truly feel about this topic
