I don't get most of the abbreviations. examples such as.. ffiw, iyswim, rofl, pmsl??? There are tons more i don't get. Is there something i can click on to inform me!!!???

It particularly irks me when a poster refers to me directly and then uses an abbreviation which when asked they don't explain.

Click on the link 'useful stuff' then the 'acronym list' this will tell you most of the ones used on MN.

Sometimes - in addtion to people using acronyms on the list they abbreviate peoples names - sometimes by truncating. Somethimes it is "initialised".
