they look like a unicorn has vomited on them.

They are vile.

YANBU

Thunderduck · 27/05/2009 19:19

YANBU. They are hideous.

TsarChasm · 27/05/2009 19:19

I can see why little girls like them, but no way would I buy them at that price. Maybe for a tenner

Haven't seen the ad, but I can sort of imagine what it's like

littlebrownmouse · 27/05/2009 19:19

I hate them too. Haven't seen the advert. I don't get why anyone would pay such a vast amount of cash for a pair of canvass shoes. I love children's shoes, my two have several pairs of lovely, classy Clarkes/start-rite/ Ricosta (is that the right word?) shoes but I don't get why anyone would spend that much on those. I don't, really. I just don't get them!

yama · 27/05/2009 19:19

Muuuumaaay - can I have Lelli Kelly make-up?

I had conditioned dd into thinking the shoes are not nice and then they start with the make-up

I did not see that coming.

Paolosgirl · 27/05/2009 19:19

YANBU - they are naff in the extreme. Overpriced glittery bits of tatt - the kind of thing that Harry Enfield would sell in his shop called "I Saw You Coming"

littlebrownmouse · 27/05/2009 19:20

Make up???

PresidentTaylor · 27/05/2009 19:21

I don't like the look of them, and my DD has not reached the age for demanding them yet...but the lady in my children's shoe shop says that they are actually really good for the feet, and good for certain foot problems. So I think that it is nice that little girls who may have the need for really supportive shoes can get sparkly ones that they will like.

yama · 27/05/2009 19:21

Yes, free lip, cheek and eye gloss.

For children.

I think I need to get a stroppy letter drafted.

Tamarto · 27/05/2009 19:22

YANBU - Thankfully the phenomenon seems to be going right over DDs head, she has taste.

Phoenix4725 · 27/05/2009 19:22

dd would love them I hate them but thank feck her feet are way way to narrow

traceybath · 27/05/2009 19:22

yanbu - they are horrid and i can't believe how much they cost.

Fried bought white plimsolls and got her DD to decorate them herself.

brimfull · 27/05/2009 19:22

love the jingle though

sticks in yr brain

actually no I hate the jingle

Ewe · 27/05/2009 19:23

YANBU

The advert drives me MAD. Gimmicky nasty tacky shoes.

littlebrownmouse · 27/05/2009 19:24

Are they fitted? Do they have different width fittings? why on earth would they be better for foot problems than pair of lovely LEATHER properly fitted shoes?

jasper · 27/05/2009 19:24

YANBU.

HORRIBLE SHOES

WinkyWinkola · 27/05/2009 19:24

They're really unsightly.

womma · 27/05/2009 19:24

They are awful, but I'd love them if I was 8

brimfull · 27/05/2009 19:25

d'ya know i kind of admire a parent who buys them for their little girl

someone who can ignore the horrendous taste so the kid can have the fantasy shoe

I admire myself everytime I see ds in his football shirt and bright blue football trainers

CrushWithEyeliner · 27/05/2009 19:26

I love them - I choose the more "toned down" styles.

They are pretty and girls seem to love them. Very durable too. But YANBU - it is personal taste. I am really quite conservative in style but for little ones you have to let go a little bit I feel.

violethill · 27/05/2009 19:26

An example of cynical marketing to impressionable little girls and gullible parents I'm afraid.

Revolting and quite impractical.

whooosh · 27/05/2009 19:27

I hate them but DD loves them-XP has bought her 3 pairs!

I actually like them! . DD has had one pair only which we bought in Germany at a reasonable price. She has wide feet and they were very comfy! I struggle as there is no Clarks in Belgium and to get "decent" shoes costs an absolute fortune. I tend to wait til we are in Blighty and buy her shoes for school there. Otherwise she has the most flexible sandals/trainers that I can find.
