because they're crapola! ...really just gym shoes with glittery stuff stuck to them.... and very very overpriced! ... i hate them they're lothesome...and dont get me started on the advert... those little girls are not real children, they are stepford robots!

I can't let go to the cost of £40 a pop

PresidentTaylor · 27/05/2009 19:38

Well, they are fitted in the shop I go to (which is a start rite kind of shop). Think the shop owner was saying they are particularly good for wider feet and are as supportive as the start rite leather type (which my DD is in at the moment). Haven't had a good look at them though as DD is not yet 3, and I assumed they were aimed at older children. Don't like kiddies make up though so if she ever chooses a pair shall have to confiscate that!

i won;t tell you how many pairs DD has!make up binned immediately. they are not impractical, ibuy them from a proper shoe shop where they are fitted properly, they have removable leather insoles and are machine washable. so ner!

nickytwotimes · 27/05/2009 19:47

Yanbu.
I don't mind them in themselves - it's the make up, marketing and price that pisses me off.

drinkmoretea · 27/05/2009 19:48

I love them... but my boys refuse to wear them

Must get girls...

SoupDragon · 27/05/2009 19:50

DD will get a pair over my dead body.

They are foul.

SoupDragon · 27/05/2009 19:52

This whole pink-sparkley crap for girls annoys me immensely. Out of all the Doodles in Clarkes this year there was one pair which was not covered in fairy vomit/unicorn poo or pink. None of the "proper" shoes were a nice colour.practical either.

Kitsilano · 27/05/2009 19:53

They make childrens' feet smell too. Which my DD (4) has taken on board and now doesn't want any. Phew!

DD says her favourite colour is pink. She does it to spite me. Thankfully the sensible denim pair with coloured swirls on it did come in her size despite the assistant worrying they were available in large sizes only.

I'm not entirely cruel - She does have a pair of silver sparkly boots from Primark. They were £5.

Portofino · 27/05/2009 20:01

When I was last in Clarks though at our Xmas visit, all they could offer dd in her size/width fitting were chunky black things. As we have no school uniform here, that is not really what i want. Kickers do the required wide sizes here but at 70 euros a pop!

I only have DS so no idea what this is about, link please

paisleyleaf · 27/05/2009 20:08

"they look like a unicorn has vomited on them."

I love them! What a fab girly idea.
Can't justify spending that much on a pair of pumps for DD though, so won't be getting any.
I haven't seen any cheapo copy versions about either.

(and....they've made me more able to justify the money for crocs that can splash in the sea, go in mud, go through the washing machine etc)

This is the first time my DD (she's 4) has been drawn in by an advert.

drlove8 · 27/05/2009 20:10

, actually dd4 has a pair of doodles, but they are for nursery- they have a plymsole policy and the clarks ones were the only ones that i could get that actually fit her tiny tiny feet..... but £15 is still a bit too expensive tbh ( i do have 8 kids to buy for you know).

YANBU, dd1 (5) is desperate for a pair. I will not buy them on account of a) the price and b the loathsome marketing (hideous give aways and dreadful adverts).

varicoseveined · 27/05/2009 20:17

YANBU, I detest the ad, hate the idea of the makeup included. My DD is only 2.2 and loves shoes already, I'm so glad she doesn't know about these!

drlove8 · 27/05/2009 20:20

looks like my links are as great as my spelling.. will try again .... any better?

dreamylady · 27/05/2009 20:21

LOL at Armadillo's 'Unicorn Vomit'- i will store that for future use.

We have run the lelli kelly gauntlet twice now and so far come out unscathed, although they were the ones dd really wanted.

The man in the shop said they're not v hard wearing and the sequins come off. though for a 4 year old clean/not scuffed shoes are a ridiculous aspiration anyway! how long will he last in that job?

PS arent sequined shoes in general a nightmare on carpets, they get full of fluff has anyone noticed?

RedCharityBonney · 27/05/2009 20:22

Horrible. Yanbu.
