and also you asked how I would feel if one of my loved ones was blown up by an illegal immigrant - well honestly I would be devastated, because their lives had been needlessly taken away. HOWEVER, we have had suicide bombers int his country who were british citizens, and it is just as devastating for them, it is still the life of an innocent person, whether the bomber was an immigrant legal or otherwise doesn't come into it.

BecauseImWorthIt · 26/05/2009 21:44

luvoneson - no I'm not taking the piss. I want to know what you mean by an illegal immigrant.

I suspect you don't actually know.

mrsboogie · 26/05/2009 21:45

I would almost prefer to hear someone say "yes I'm racist and I vote for the BNP and agree with their stance" than have a person vote for them without even knowing what they stand for.

daftpunk · 26/05/2009 21:48

if someone votes for the BNP....fine...they are not committing a crime...they are a legit political party...whatever some people think of them

mrsboogie · 26/05/2009 21:48

none of the people who have committed terrorist acts in this country were illegal immigrants were they?

mrsboogie · 26/05/2009 21:50

Yes daftpunk that's true but you should make it your business to know what you are voting FOR?

luvoneson · 26/05/2009 21:50

MichKit I have the utmost respect for you. Why are you lot missing the point. I have no objection to any foreigner coming here to study/work and pay their taxes. I am talking people coming here smuggled in lorries, arriving at our airports and not returning to their countries. And yes they can claim benefits, they are also entitled to a legal aid lawyer to act on their behalf. SO BOLLOCKS TO THE LOT OF YOU.

browntrout · 26/05/2009 21:52

I think the point is that luvoneson was making observations about the state of the UK as a consequence of a perceived liberal immigration policy and hence her vote for the BNP. I dont deny her right to vote for them - I just think her knowledge of what they represent and the true facts about the state of immigration in this country is pretty poor. As such, we are entitled to respond IMO.

MichKit · 26/05/2009 21:53

But, luvoneson, the point is that if the BNP ever come into power (crosses herself!), even people like me WILL BE DEPORTED!!! How can you not get that?

daftpunk · 26/05/2009 21:54

mrsboogie...alot of people do know what they're voting for....and they should be able to vote for them without having to justify it to the world and his wife

nickytwotimes · 26/05/2009 21:55

BOllocks to the lot of us?

Oh, well, that's fairly conclusive then.

For a start, most illegal immigrants are hiding. Also, they are put in detention centres prior to deportation.

A few posts ago you were saying that they were claiming benfits. They are not.

luvoneson · 26/05/2009 21:57

One more point, I know someone who works in a benefit office. She tells me how the staff get so pissed off, you would not believe it. The amount of foreigners who have just got off the boat/plane who DO claim. My DH earns over £150,000 a year and gets totally fXXXXd off when he pays his 61percent tax, a huge part goes to paying these peoples housing benefit etc etc.

browntrout · 26/05/2009 21:57

daftpunk - quite right, you dont have to justify your reasons - oh, unless you post on an internet forum telling people they should try living in London, then they'd know how awful these foreigners are etc etc (even though I have lived there and I imagine many others who dont share her views have as well).

browntrout · 26/05/2009 21:59

Thought it was 51% tax.
And he only pays it on the proportion over £150k doesnt he?
Are you not sure of these facts either?

EffieGadsby · 26/05/2009 22:01

The 50% tax (not 61) doesn't start until April 2010. Are you delusional, luvoneson?

ravenAK · 26/05/2009 22:02

luvoneson, you're dead right, I wouldn't believe it.

If you are an illegal immigrant then you are not entitled to claim benefits.

I'm not entirely sure I believe in your high-earning dh either, or his 61 per cent tax.

nickytwotimes · 26/05/2009 22:03

Well, luvone, that is yet more anecdotal 'evidence' to back up your predjudice viewpoints.

Thunderduck · 26/05/2009 22:03

Did I read that correctly, or do I need my eyes tested?

Did someone say that the BNP aren't racist?

browntrout · 26/05/2009 22:03

hiding this thread now - this is making me too cross

nickytwotimes · 26/05/2009 22:04

Yep, I'm hiding too Browntrout.
You can't reason with stupidity.

MrsMattie · 26/05/2009 22:05

Oh FGS. You sound like Alf Garnett's bastard child @luvoneson

MichKit · 26/05/2009 22:06

Just for the record, even if you are a legal immigrant, you are not allowed to claim for a certain period of time. Its only after you become a full resident of UK (usually takes 5 years on a work permit, government is increasing it to six from next year) that you are allowed to claim certain benefits.

If the rules are so tough for legal immigrants, I would be very very surprised if illegal immigrants get ANY benefits!!

BecauseImWorthIt · 26/05/2009 22:13

We all pay tax - it's not something only your DH does!

Sorry if you don't like it, but taxes pay for public services for all of us.

DorisIsAPinkDragon · 26/05/2009 22:14

Luvoneson- I can see that the illigal imigrantion issue has been firmly brainwashed placed into your head but PLEASE before you vote read my last link to the other thread regarding their stance on the family etc.

Voting on one issue but disregarding the rest of their EQUALLY SCARY views, is horrifying, and if enough people do it could leave this country much worse off.

If you want a protest vote look for an independant with similar beliefs regarding open borders (note not a reference to illegal imigrantion !) but please use your vote CAREFULLY!

luvoneson · 26/05/2009 22:14

RavenAK my dh happens to be an
Insurance Executive in the City (london). I know how much he earns thank you very much. I spend enough of it.

And as for your MrsMattie you have just made me PMSL.
