Genuine observation here, not trying to stir anything. It just seems a lot less cliquey and bum-licky. My replies are recognised and appreciated. I hope newbies feel welcomed and that there isn't some barrier that you have to cross in order to become 'popular'.

Well?

Can you imagine needing the loo in SEA's house?

SEA: Oh hang on, I'll just knit you some more paper...

southeastastra · 22/05/2009 19:38

it's very ethical and you can wash it an re-use

daftpunk · 22/05/2009 19:38
Grin
Mintyy · 22/05/2009 19:38

Knitting is so de rigeur, did you not know that daftpunk?

FlashH - I can see you are serious but I don't know who you are. If you have been here long enough to offer an opinion on the site pre and post moldies, why are you in disguise?

AitchTwoOh · 22/05/2009 19:38

i think there may be something in DG's plan, you know. i had suggested to Justine when all this Moldies thing kicked off that in future some mini-sites might be a good idea but being a non-techie person i actually didn't know what i was talking about... just some vague way of keeping the place small while letting it grow, you know, villages being overtaken by cities still retain that villagey feel if they work at it etc etc etc.

but how to do it without a real nobbish sense of excluding people? perhaps dg's just not looking at certain sections might work, you know? although we'd actually have to name a section Bumsex so that the prim girls like myself could avoid it.

AitchTwoOh · 22/05/2009 19:39

although.... shouldn't dg be PACKING?!

Saltire · 22/05/2009 19:40

DG - what's this specialist holiday you're going on? Is it robinhoodfansanonymous in some forest in the middle of nowhere?

Nighbynight · 22/05/2009 19:40

mumsnet is a lot nicer since the "royalty" left, thats for sure. (every now and then you see a post saying "psst! messenger NOW!" and you know theyre on here incognito lol)

Up until moldiegate, I still clung to the old feelings of friendship that I had had since the early days. Those feelings have now gone completely. This probably means that I am more realistic about mumsnet. hey ho.

noddyholder · 22/05/2009 19:41

Dp you really should be knitting it is almost compulsory for rockers chicks!

Dumbledoresgirl · 22/05/2009 19:42

Yes I should be packing. And cooking. And getting my children to bed.

Tomorrow, there will be a lot of screaming and stressing and we will probably get away about 10 minutes before we need to have lunch.

No Saltire, not going to Robin Hood's Bay!

RustyBear · 22/05/2009 19:42

I can't see posters' names when I'm MNing on my iPhone, they are too small, so I don't know who's posting (except when it's psychomum ........ >>> It does seem to make a difference to me, but I haven't yet decided whether I prefer to know or not to know.

AitchTwoOh · 22/05/2009 19:44

can i point out that the last people who'd be psssting about msn messenger are moldies, they've got a whole sodding private site to chat on... they don't need msn.

VeniVidiVickiQV · 22/05/2009 19:46

Indeed, how would anyone know?

Millionaires shortbread is DH's favourite and I bought baking ingredients today although I've just realised I have no cooking chocolate because someone in the house has eaten it, but no-one is owning up as yet........

daftpunk · 22/05/2009 19:46

yes flash...why are you in disguise? do we have to wait till this gets to 1000 posts before we find out who you really are, like scoobydoo...

Nighbynight · 22/05/2009 19:48

I doubt that the ability to post on one more site has stopped you from using other forms of communication like email and messenger, though, has it.

VeniVidiVickiQV · 22/05/2009 19:48

Has anyone heard of this latest invention???? It's called facelook or something.....

2shoes · 22/05/2009 19:48

pmsl at me and daftpuk being saits(I hope we are not as how boring would that be)

AitchTwoOh · 22/05/2009 19:50

don't use cooking chocolate, use nice stuff. well, by nice stuff i mean pretty decent stuff from lidl that's on offer at 49p a bar.

actually am quite freaked out by nighbynight's post. it makes So Little Sense that anyone msning would be a moldie and yet clearly that's what people are believing... it's kinda weirdly paranoid. perhaps it is true about the sex texts/credit crunch/war? seems like people are prepared to believe any old slur so long as the moldie is attached. bonkers.

talking of slur, where's she? has she namechanged? i just can't keep up these days.

daftpunk · 22/05/2009 19:51

lol noddyholder....sorry..knitting ..
does nothing for me.

'you'? are you referring to me, nbyn? i don't msn, don't yahoo, don't use the fb group and amn't on moldies. pure as the driven slush, me.

TheFallenMadonna · 22/05/2009 19:52

I don't think MN is better now. I find it just a tad self-righteous. Not everyone, but a critical mass I think. Fewer shades of grey. I mean, I still love it enough to be here most days, but...

Nighbynight · 22/05/2009 19:52

It is not a slur, or bonkers, or particularly unlikely, aitch. Merely that when I see one of these messages, which certain people used to use a lot, I conclude that it's probably them. That's it. Where's the slur, the war, the "bonkers"? In your imagination.

AitchTwoOh · 22/05/2009 19:53

ooooh i think you're right. she has a wee whiff of HQ. i knew i was crawling for a reason.

Nighbynight · 22/05/2009 19:54

aitch, you said you were a moldie before. If you arent any more, then that should be "they" of course. Sorry for the slur
