Ive just found out that im having a beautiful baby girl so now i can really start to think about names and im soooooo excited!!!!!!

I really like how in twilight bella names her daughter renesmee after her mum and edwards mum, its such a beautiful tribute to the women who raised them. Id like to acknowledge our mums in our baby girls name but im not very good at creative stuff so i thought i would ask you ladys coz i know some of you do creative writing and stuff.

My mum is kathy short for katherine and hubbys mum is called sylvia do you have any ideas?

mum23monkeys · 11/05/2009 18:05

" oh he is called Twatt as a middle name, I wanst ken but its a fmilay name"

i mean unless you are the duke of poshshire do people really have FAMILY names?

nobs

CherryChoc · 11/05/2009 18:08

Why not just have one as a first name and the other as a middle name? Katherine Sylvia sounds nice. You could even have it as a double barrelled first name, ie always call her Katie Sylvia or something like that.

I like the suggestion of Katya as well.

BernardsCat · 11/05/2009 18:09

Sylvia is a shocking name.

JRocks · 11/05/2009 18:10

Katya is probably your best bet if you insist on joining the names, but CherryChoc has the best idea IMO.

littlelamb · 11/05/2009 18:11

O god the fourth book ruined Twilight for me. Renesmee indeed

laweaselmys · 11/05/2009 18:14

How do you even say Renesmee? Because in my head it sounds crap.

Katya is nice though.

BernardsCat · 11/05/2009 18:14

Because in my head it sounds crap.

pooka · 11/05/2009 18:16

I loathed the renesmee name in Twilight. Particularly as her middle name was Carlie (after father Carlisle and father Charlie). I mean, way to go at labouring a point.

I like Sylvia as a name. Katya also OK. BEcause they both sound like "real" names.

pointydog · 11/05/2009 18:19

Thylvia. Nice lispy sound

BernardsCat · 11/05/2009 18:22

thlyvia better not have any Thausageth

CherryChoc · 11/05/2009 18:37

Don't you mean Thothageth, Bernard?

(PS I have a cat called Bernard!)

BernardsCat · 11/05/2009 18:52

haha! yes those.

Morloth · 11/05/2009 19:00

I think that is actually how Renesmee is pronounced: (krr-ap).

TrillianAstra · 11/05/2009 19:13

I thought it was the most realistic part of the whole series. Melodramatic teenager gives unplanned baby sentimental made-up name.

BernardsCat · 11/05/2009 19:14

lol at morloth

MrsHappy · 11/05/2009 19:23

Renesmee makes me think of Princess Tiaamii...

Do you think Katie and Peter have read Twilight?

Joking aside, if you want to name your baby after your mother and your DP's mother, go for it. I think it would be nicer to use their actual names than to make one up though.

BarrelOfMonkeys · 11/05/2009 21:45

Renesmee is a sodding awful name. Sounds like a badly-caught sneeze. And it'd get shortened to "Rennie" in real-life, not Nessie. Bella should call the next one Gaviscon and be done with it.

Katya, on the other hand, is quite nice - but a proper name in its own right. Agree with MrsHappy that actual names are nicer. (Sylverine just brings to mind Brasso-like products, IMHO.)
